Does your city tap water taste good?

Whenever a guest visits my house they say, "this water is good and cold". They than bring up the water @ there house is not good as ours.


So is your tap water good there?

Yes, I actually like tap water more than bottled water.

Our water here is decent-- it's a lot worse where I was born, they drink from the Mississippi

I've found that the water in Wyoming is much better than the las vegas area, and everywhere in California that I've been.

One factor to consider is that it depends on your house as well as your town. Our last place, while only 10 or so blocks away from here, had some old and crappy water pipes. That stuff wasn't good at all.

At my parents place in central VA, the tap water is great.
Where I went to college in southwest VA, the tap water was friggin NASTY no matter where in town you were.

Not necessarily. The water in the area in which I ive (NW Chicago burbs) comes from lake michigan, and, as such, is very good in taste and quality. About 35 minutes down the road, where my aunt lives, all the water is drawn from wells, and has a slightly bitter, metallic taste.

Unless you've never had bottled and dont know the difference.

But thats the only thing bad about my town and I can deal with it.

Ok. But where I live all the water comes from the same place, but somehow people can taste some amazing difference. I poured some bottled water into a glass and then some tap water and they mixed them up and they tasted identical

Here in Las Vegas the water is terrible. At our house the water goes through a water softener and a RO filter before I will drink it. Straight from the tap is NASTY.

I miss Oregon water..........

I live in LA and it's OK, but there's this one faucet in my house and it's like really really really good for some reason. Bottled is the best though.

Horrible. Like a swimming pool full of lead and iron flakes. We use a water filter.

Isn't that the truth? My grandparents live down there, and the tap water is the worst I've ever had.

There is a very noticable amount of "taste" in the gainesvlle, FL tap water.... which is why I Brita it and voted the tap water as nasty.

Tap water shouldn't have THAT much taste to it.

Yep. Portland's water is very good. All natural glacier-fed.

Never been outside NY except for going to NJ (and i wouldnt dare taste tap water from there, heh). one of my professors once said that NY has the cleanest tap water in the nation.
