Clearly, you don't know what reality is. If you're about 16 as your mental age level implies then at least you have time to figure things out, and I hope you do. If you're 40 and still squeaking along an entry level and haven't lifted a finger to better yourself in all that time then I have no real sympathy for you.

Ahh, trying to be condescending. The bastion of someone with no real argument.

I notice you're another one that spouts a lot of shit and snickers when others present facts, even charts backing up their point- but you haven't answered a single question put to you. Typical.

It doesn't strike me as all that far fetched to guess you're as lazy in your real life as you are pretending to argue points here.

Raising the minimum wage does two things.

1. Reduces poverty
2. Elevates society as a whole. With fewer people impoverish, more people will be abl to afford goods, so both the economy and the lives of people will improve.

well then fuck. We should just reduce the middle class too. why nto have everyone live the good life?

lets make minimum wage $500k a year? or 1 million? we won't have anyone impoverished and EVERYONE would be able to afford whatever the fuck they want!

You described yourself to a T.

Stupid people exist (as evidence by your posts) saying they should have done more when they were younger doesn't change the fact that more "stupid" and "lazy" old people are working more part time jobs than before. The question, which you still haven't addressed is; how do you fix that? Do you fix that?

An even cheaper and quicker fix would be to just kill all retired baby boomers! How's that for hyperbole? Except my solution would fix the problem and many others!

Isn't posting retarded shit fun?!

most the "old" people i know working part time do it because they are bored or looking for a small amount extra each month. Where jobs like Walmart and fast food are perfect.

My father worked at walmart as a greeter before they stopped that. he didn't need the extra money but he was bored with being retired. a few other guys who worked with him were in the same boat. bored with sitting around the house so got part time jobs.

If I was old and needed money, Walmart greeter would certainly had been my choice.

Of course, I would have to be wearing a jacket so I could cover up my "Walmart Bingo" Card... :whiste:

Pot kettle black much? Who's the stupid one arguing for everyone else to fix thier problems for them again? Oh right, that would be you.

The question, which you still haven't addressed is; how do you fix that? Do you fix that?
The question was answered, just like a typical lib moron you didn't like the answer because it wasn't "everyone open their wallet, bend over, grab ankles and fix all your troubles for you because you deserve it!"

Want to go to school? Figure out a way to go to school.

Want a better job that pays more? Figure out a way to get a better job that pays more.

People have done that throughout time, and through periods of greater economic and social hardship that anything right now. (Try having your life put on hold by a great depression, being drafted to fight a world war, and toss in a dust bowl for good measure- to name but one example of way harder times than now that people still made it through- many of the very people that you've probably called stupid for working as greeters at Walmart or something because they chose to). You're just a spoiled punk kid that thinks he's too special do have to do anything and that everyone else owes you a better life. Reality check: You're not special above anyone else, and no one else owes you anything.

So when you are 65 and can't retire because you're mentally retarded and can't hold a 401k or manage money, we should just send you off to the slaughter house? Well, finally we have something we can agree with. I think everyone in this thread is right here with you on that :hmm:

Well if you are 65 and can't retire it's your own damn fault right? You aren't entitled to anything, you should have planned for a better future, your failure is your problem.

--says the poster before you.

The baby boomer generation is the worst generation ever! Hand outs for them but not for anyone else. They got theirs so fuck you!

I'm going to be well prepared until the gooberment starts trying to pull from retirement funds. I'm all for it. My point was someone on your level certainly isn't.

Attacking character. Another non-argument. I have responded to everyone who has spoken to me with a spirit of debate with a well thought and referenced reply.

David Angelo sums up some of the reasons why raising minimum wage rates would be harmful to the very same people proponents of a "living wage" (an ambiguous phrase) and provides insight in why productivity increasing is more of a sign of greater technological improvements rather than employees "working harder".

Then there is Thomas Sowell who in this 1981 addressed the issue of unemployment amongst blacks in 1981 with similar points on the destructiveness of the minimum wage.

No, when asked how you had refuted the data someone presented, you tried to bluff but didn't actually answer the question.

That guy is pretty funny!

What's funniest is that video makes you realize that most of the "raise the minimum wage!" crowd is just regurgitating the same five or six tired talking points over and over again in every single one of these discussions.

It's also so refreshing that he touched on the idea of purchasing power being more important, and how many of the same charlatans going on about increasing the minimum wage are also in favor of a weak dollar, which is of course an idiot's position.
