1. I have a 6 month old corgi pup that likes to dig holes in the back yard. what do I do to stop her from digging? I know the best way is to either give her her own 'digging' spot, or when I catch her do it, I should discourage it(taking her away, spraying water on her, etc etc). However, the problem is that she does it when we are not around. When we are both out in the yard, she doesnt dig. It's when we leave her out in the yard while we are at work and no one is home that she starts doing her project. What can we do? we already have plenty of chew toys outside for her.

2. She is also starting to bite the exterior part of the house, and damaging the house. What do I do to prevent it? she does this probably at the same time that she digs, which is when no one is home.

3. As for the house, Is this very bad? do I need to do anything to patch it up? if so, what do I do?

what do I do to: 1)prevent dog from digging/biting, 2)repair damage house, 3) is this damage to my house 'urgent'?

pics on megaupload ? I dont think that anyone is going to download them after waiting for ~45sec for each pic. Use some other online sources to upload your pics,

One cure for digging:
1: put on coveralls when you get home.
2: fill hole with water.
3: hold nose in puddle, long enough to get message across.
4: repeat three days.
5: dig a new hole? same treatment for new hole, along with the balance of three days dunking in original hole.
6: soon dog will not make places for you to fill with water.

I have and have had several corgis. Is it a Pembrook or a Welsh?

None of mine have even dug holes to the extent you are describing although my the one I have now, "maggie" will dig a hole in a shady spot and lay in it when shes out in the summertime. I assume to keep cool. Your corg may very well grow out of out of of this, only time will tell.

I have noticed over the years that corgis are better kept in pairs as when outside they are very active. Could be maybe yours just gets bored out all day by itself.....

What about putting the dog in a kennel when you go away?

Corgis are very social and energetic dogs. By keeping the dog stay out in the backyard for many hours during the day by itself it will find something to do, even if it is destructive

You must not like your dog very much if you leave it ouside all day unsupervised. Why don't you offer it up for adoption? There's bound to be a good family that would love having your dog. Or just continue leave it out there while you are gone; Sooner of later, someone is going to steal it.

Very true, I walk my Corgi twice a day for more than an hour each time. He usually sacks out then for a most of the day

I have to agree with you. Corgis need social interaction a lot more than most breeds IMO
