Do you think that AMD should take advantage of the K9 marketing opportunity by going with a canine theme?

It has to be better than naming your entire new CPU line after the type of material used to build toilet stalls. What were they thinking? ("Athlon", btw.)Originally posted by: bunnyfubbles
Dogs sniff out bombs and save disaster victims. Loyal companion to man, dogs suply things to man that we want/need. Why is that a bad thing if we paint such a picture for a CPU?
Perhaps instead of K-9 or K10, they should call them the "oh-Kay" CPU. Or even better, the "Kay-Oh" (K.O.), referring to their dual-core chips destroying Intel's competitive offerings.Originally posted by: bunnyfubbles
Granted I don't think its a great idea, AMD doesn't currently use the Kx in their marketing (you didn't see them call their Thunderbirds and Palominos and Bartons the K7, nor do you see them calling the A64s and Opterons K8s, K7 K8 K9, their just codes to describe the generation of the processor), so it wouldn't make sense to start doing so now, especially when it might not make that much sense if there is going to be any serious split feelings about it.
