Doh, How can I change my G: to C:?

I just got rid of my scsi HDD's, but left them in while I installed. :Q
I dont have the scsi hdd's anymore and I was wondering what software I can use to change the primary HDD (with the OS on it) to C:.
I am running win2k and I can change the secondary, but not the primary. Thanks.

Well you can't really if you have programs installed because they all reference the G:\ Drive. The best thing to do is reinstall.

partition magic has a utility that changes all references from one drive to another, but reinstalling everything is free.

Go to start->Run and type regedit

In RegEdit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->System->MountedDevices

Right click the device you want to change and choose "Rename". Change it to the appropriate letter.

Note that reinstalling is probably a better idea, because there is no telling what software DEPENDS on the fact that your drive is named G. I would recommend just reinstalling your OS/Software.

right click on my computer and go to manage and pick disk managment and then right click on the drive you wanna change and it should let you change the letter there.

I tried that and it said it cant because its the primary HDD. I will try partition magic, thanks all.

BTW, the PartitionMagic utility is called DriveMapper. It's generally worked flawlessly for me, except one time, but it was a much earlier version many years ago.
