The problem is the "if it is proven" part, and unfortunately for you there are so many glaring holes and red flags that you're highly unlikely to ever get what you want (a dramatic shift in public opinion). Hell, when even Fox News says "we won't run with this as we can't confirm it," you know something's amiss.

The NY Post hit piece and associated claims about Hunter only really appeal to diehard Trump fans who were looking for something to latch on to — something to make them feel better about their votes. Virtually everyone else is shrugging their shoulders and knows that it wouldn't really change the situation even if it were true.

The irony? Trump may be this claim's undoing. The 2016 "but her emails" allegations stuck to Clinton in part because Obama's tenure was so scandal-free — there were questions of whether bailouts and drone strikes were the right idea, but never a serious allegation against him. Trump has been so overtly and consistently corrupt to the point where he admitted to multiple things that, in a previous administration, would have led to his removal from office. At best, he makes Biden look good by comparison; at worst, he has numbed people to corruption allegations.

Investigation has been active since 2019. Bobulinski is now a material witness in this investigation according to the article. Short of shenanigans, this should seal the deal for the Donald.

The real question is why did the Dems run a candidate whose son is under an active FBI investigation?
1) Did they think they had the FBI sewn up so tight that this wouldn't get out? Or
2) Did they use Joe as a placeholder knowing that this info would eventually come out and be a good excuse when Joe loses the election?

At least it explains things like why Obama didn't start campaigning until last week and why he has never seemed excited to endorse Joe. He most likely knew. They all most likely knew. Another election, another FBI investigation.

There are incredibly strong rules against the DOJ announcing or even leaking that such a figure is under investigation this close to the election, without even the arguable Comney justification for violating this rule, which at least technically occurred further out.

Basically these rules are in place because an investigation could turn out to be mistaken and for example Bobulinski may be lying his ass off. The basic principle is not sticking a political figure with such a claim with no effectively no time to clear their name. This is also supposed to make it harder for political pressure to swing an election with a bogus criminal investigation or charges. Leaking such an investigation right now would be a spectacular violation of the rules and an clear effort to improperly swing the results of the election.

In other words, this claim does not mean remotely what you think it does if it is actually true.
