Dolphin HD version 5.0 is live in the Android Market

Just downloaded the new Dolphin, it definitely looks sharp. They claim it's faster but it doesn't feel so (at least not as zippy as Opera). The overall feel though is very crisp. I'll have to keep playing with it to see how I like it.

The gesture feature seems even more annoying now in that it doesn't like to recognize mine.

Opera raised the bar. Either get GPU acceleration working or your browser isn't worth it.

Dolphin HD uses the built in renderer so it can't exactly perform much better than the stock browser if at all. I used it (before Opera Mobile) because it had a better (but ugly) interface.

With Opera Mobile, I have no reason to use Dolphin HD =/

Installed it on my Thunderbolt and Transformer. Definitely a lot better on the TB, previous version felt all laggy for some reason, was fine on the Incredible.

Tablet just got the honeycomb 3.1 update and the stock browser has a page scroll bar that I've been wanting for mobile forever. Might make me use it over dolphin.

Dolphin HD started force closing on me a while back. Started using Opera and now I have no desire to go back to Dolphin. Opera is just faster. Some things are a little weird but they got true pinch-zoom so I'm happy. Only things I don't like are text box behavior and scrolling.

What sucks about Opera is that it won't turn off mobile view even though it's disabled. For example when I go to www.adultswim.com it changes m.adultswim. DolphinHD allows me to view the page in full including the embedded flash items. That's too bad Opera.. Uninstalled.

That's not what Mobile View does. The Mobile View setting tells Opera whether to reformat web pages to fit your screen and has nothing to do with the user agent.

User agent spoofing is still a major feature missing from Opera and it's one of the reasons I keep other browsers around, but Opera is so much better in other areas that I'm willing to live with it.

Click on "User Prefs" while still in the opera:config page, and copy and paste one from useragentstring.com into the Custom User-Agent box (about half way down). I'm using this

I have been loving Opera Mobile, but the last couple of updates left me weirded out about it. When zooming in, everything renders slowly. Sometimes redownloading the whole page.
So far I am liking the latest Dolphin.
Thought I'd never say that.

I could see how someone could get the "Mobile View" toggle confused with a user agent function. Honestly I don't like Mobile View at all, they should just replace it.

Opera Mobile won't import stock android bookmarks. Why on earth can't they share a database?

That is stopping me from using Opera. If they fix that, I'll switch. Import would be a nice feature, but sharing the bookmarks db would be the fix.

Opera Mobile has the best implementation of tabs on Android.

EDIT: Heck, I will go as far to say that Opera Mobile has the best implementation of tabs on any mobile device. Better than any iOS or Blackberry browser I have seen.

I just moved my install to the sd and it works fine. I do have a class 10 microsd card.

20mb when installed normally but 156kb if using Froyo a2sd (although my g2 has plenty of internal space so I don't bother)
