This may sound stupid, but once I buy a domain name, what do i do with it. Lets say I have a DSL connection and I leave the computer on all day. Can I let that computer hold my website up? (It has a static ip) Anwyays its running win98... Or what if my ISP gave me a free 10mb space... can I use that space and have the URL change to my new domain name or what.. I bought firesurround.com for my mom's business once.. and well nothing ever happened after that (from network solutions) but i had no clue how to setup hosting for the site
you can host your site on your computer, but dont expect to much if you do that, since you're on dsl. once you have a domain name, you can use basicaly anything that gives you webspace, just redirect your domain name.
Anyone know if they provide DNS services as well? I couldn't find anything on their site that addresses this. Or, would anyone know where DNS services are offered?
After I register the domain, it's not going to be of any use until a DNS server serves the domain!
