Domain Name Question

Hey everybody,
I have a question for the IT people out there. My company owns the rights to a domain name. The problem is that there is another company in Seattle who are using the e-mail address with our prefix. What steps are there to change this. Isn't it true that if we own our domain that we have the right to the e-mail that is attached to it???
here is an example:
We own www.mydomain.com
they use the e-mails *user*@mydomain.com

wait. I am confused. If you own "kittens.com"

Are you saing they are using the email: user@kittens.com? or kittens@somethingelse.com

It should be impossable for them to have email at user@kittens.com unless they have access to your domain and can add records.

We have the domain name loan-ranger.com and they are using the e-mails ***@loan-ranger.com where ***is a user name. We never set up an e-mail server or anything like that yet (I just came into this job yesterday) but I was told that the e-mails are not available.

tell your admin to get on the ball and delete their accounts... although im still confused as to how they got thse email addresses in the first place and how they still have access to them...

Then somehow someone added a record to the DNS server. Time to give Mr. Lipman a call, or go to MYERSINTERNET.COM and change the Domain info.
