then come up with a government that is not allowed to be in pocket of big corps. or at least limit their influence. I mean how is it possible for Citizen United to stand?
We already had it that way, when this country was created by our fore fathers. Then centuries later, the SCOTUS made corporations people and gave corporate lobbyists the extreme power they have. Because of that ruling, it's allowed corporations to be protected by many provisions of our constitution that was NEVER designed to protect corporations. You want it back that way, remove the "corporations are people" and remove the lobbyists. The ONLY entities that should be allowed to lobby the government are citizens who are legal aged voters, and not a single corporation. Donations should also be severely limited, so the rich can't buy our government officials. Currently our representatives do not listen to their constituents, they listen to the corporate lobbyists and the rich, who are the ones that are writing our laws and controlling this country.

First of all why are politicians allowed to draw electoral districts? It should be drawn based on population distribution and logical boundaries. Second of all, repeal Citizen United. You want to spend money buying ads, fine. But it cannot be hidden.

All good ideas. The problem is they're not realistically going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

The basic problem is that it's politicians who get to decide if they want to change how things are done.

i thought settlement with fox admitting to wrong doing was good but the hosts/mouth pieces that spewed the lies got away with it was bad.

wont make future mouth pieces think twice before spewing lies.

i wanted a homerun and not only fox to be crushed but mouth pieces like Tucker as well
Let's hope Smartmatic lawsuit does better

Apologize for what - telling them what they want to hear? The problem is if he didn't say what they wanted to hear - they (the viewers) would simply shop around for a station that did (such as newsmax). I'm not saying it is right or good but i am saying the problem is the ignorance you find in so many fools.

For lying on a grand and destructive scale? For treating facts as anathema to ratings, to the point it almost destroyed our democracy? I'd say that at the least deserves an apology, hell Fox helped fuel vaccine denialism and made Tony Fauci the enemy instead of the virus - directly helping to create a situation where hundreds of thousands of Americans died needlessly from a preventable disease.

I don't care what magats want. They are a malignant cancer on this country and their only utility in this scenario is to confuse Murdoch with a strange black man on their porch.

Well, if it's a consolation, there are at least 6 others lawsuits out there that target not only Fox but, the Trump clown car of lawyers, and pundits.

Music to my ears. I hope the rest are hearing people like us pine for some measure of accountability and not just a settlement.

Americans deserve to see people like Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity take the stand for their work in helping America suffer. Magats deserve to have their faces rubbed in it, again and again and again.

What is the timeline for this trial to start because we are running out of time.

In my former home state of Michigan the voters pushing through a citizen led redistricting commission.

The net result was Republicans lost their gerrymandered electoral advantage, lost both chambers of the state legislature, and corporations lost their union busting "right-to-work" law.

Wisconsin has done similar https://govstatus.egov.com/peoplesmaps

At the state level, things are improving.

That's great and all, but for every one of those there is an opposite outcome happening in one of FL/TX/TN/GA/etc. while SCOTUS continues to play calvinball at almost every possible opportunity.

Since the news of the settlement, the narrative in the MAGAsphere is they are wondering if Dominion plans to use the settlement money on software development, to make their voting machines fully capable of cheating for Democrats without ever getting caught. They view if Dominion machines are used, results will be 99% Democrat; 1% Republican, in the next election. So yes, the FOX viewers are a lost at sea.

I’m honestly surprised cons haven’t been pushing ES&S voting machines. The voting machines that somehow get results in places like KY that have more Repubs casting votes than are registered.

Interestingly, ES&S machines have a Wi-Fi modem module that’s never been certified for voting integrity but have been found included in voting machines…claiming they’re never used. (All the voting machine mfgr scan include wireless modems, but only ES&S has inferred theirs are certified by the EAC (Election Assistance Commission.)

“The federal Election Assistance Commission has rebuked the nation’s top voting-machine maker over marketing materials that the panel says deceptively implied the company’s voting machines are EAC-certified.

“The commission admonished Election Systems & Software over promotional literature and statements on its website that appear to assert, falsely, that voting machines the company sells with embedded modems have been sanctioned by the EAC under its testing and certification program. The statements put ES&S in violation of the EAC’s testing and certification rules, the commission wrote in a previously unreported March 20 letter to the company that POLITICO obtained, and directed ES&S to revise the literature and notify customers that the systems are not certified.”

I wish tn and nc would do something similar; their maps are insane.
