I don't think she is shot as a witness AND if she reported the inability to access and correct transscripts within the 30 day window; i would expect the judge to censor the lawyers and him to look into disbarment.

I wouldn't put her on the stand to contradict testimony she gave in another lawsuit, then explain that she was coerced and couldn't correct it. I know how I'd handle that if I was a Fox lawyer. I'd say she's angry at Fox News is thus changing her testimony and blaming Fox. I'd get her to admit she perjured herself. All those arguments can be countered but it's better not to have that kind of baggage with a witness.

Yes but if she has recordings to support her testimony as someone on the jury who would you believe ?

Firing Tucker Carlson was an unwritten, oral part of the Dominion settlement! (?)

"Amid proliferating speculation about why Carlson was fired, Variety recently reported that a Fox board member told Carlson his firing was a condition of the Dominion settlement.

“The unnamed board member told Carlson that the condition does not appear in any of the settlement’s documents, and instead was a verbal agreement,” Variety said.

“If Fox didn’t comply, the settlement was off, Carlson was told. Dominion had plenty of leverage given that the $787.5m deal to settle Dominion’s defamation suit against the network wouldn’t officially close until late May.”

However, a Dominion spokesperson told the Guardian the full settlement sum was received on 18 April, two days before the case was closed and six days before Carlson was fired."

^^^ True or not, the fucker is gone, gone, gone.

There is an article on the Guardian that Fox news or Fox Incorporated went to Carlson's Maine home and ripped out the entire studio that they built for him.

If anyone is stupid enough to think that unwritten verbal agreements are ever a part of multimillion dollar settlements of highly contested commercial litigation where both sides are represented by top tier legal counsel, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

And if that was in fact the case I would expect Carlson to sue Dominion for tortious interference with his employment contract.

OTOH Faux News giving Carlson a BS explanation placing the blame on other parties-entirely predictable.

Another possible fallout. Who knew Fox (and Trump) were not just focused primarily on creativity in their staff for communications and producing "news" shows... but are also completely fine in admitting it.

"Raj Shah, the Fox Corp. brand protection executive who pushed Fox News in an even more pro-Trump direction after the 2020 election, has left the company.

“Raj brought talent and creativity to his role at Fox,” Fox spokesperson Brian Nick told CNN on Thursday. “We appreciate his service and wish him the best on his next endeavor.”

Shah, who left the company in May, had previously served in the Trump administration as a senior communications official."

Fox news has agreed to pay Abby Grossberg $12 Million dollars to drop her lawsuits against Fox for coercing her testimony in the Dominion lawsuit and having a harmful work environment.

Fox News will pay $12 million to settle a pair of major lawsuits brought by former producer Abby Grossberg, her lawyer said Friday.

Grossberg had accused Fox News of pressuring her into giving false testimony in Dominion Voting Systems’ historic defamation case against the network, and of fostering a deeply misogynist workplace. She had sued Fox News, its parent company, former primetime host Tucker Carlson and several senior executives.

Updates on Smartmatic/Fox lawsuit may be sparse, looks like discovery doesn't conclude until December this year. Separate cases on Dominion vs. OANN and Newsmax also aren't going fast, with 2024 earliest likely trial dates. (OANN not yet scheduled as far as I can see, Newsmax tentatively proposed for Sept 2024)

On the Fox front, nothing definitive yet, but at least one AG was looking into Fox for breach in fiduciary duty to shareholders over election lies (this is from June 6):

That's not an AG that's a law-firm (on behalf of shareholders); that sort of stuff is common - basically shitty legal firms looking to make a buck. In the end the shareholds get pennies on the $$$ while the law-firm get $$$.
-
god i hate these types of lawyers - they have the ethics of a slug.

I don't disagree about such shady law firms that basically sue over any stock price drop , but this actually is the state AG:
...

Oregon’s attorney general announced Monday she has begun investigating the board of directors of Fox Corp. for breaching its fiduciary duties by allowing Fox News to broadcast false claims about the 2020 presidential election — claims that cost the broadcaster almost $800 million in a lawsuit.

Also joining the investigation is Oregon State Treasurer Tobias Read, who oversees the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, which owns more than 250,000 shares of Fox stock.

“Treasurer Read and I believe that Fox’s board of directors breached its fiduciary duties by allowing Fox News to broadcast false claims that Dominion and Smartmatic rigged the 2020 presidential election,” Rosenblum said. “We hope to hold the board accountable and protect the long-term value of Oregon’s investment in Fox Corp."

Yea sorry about that - just read the headline which was mis-leading (i think); unless she is investigating as a private citizen and shareholder - or maybe the state of oregon had shares so that is what triggered it.

This is what did it. Reveals that Tucker is an unbalanced racist, white supremacist.

Wasn't the "racist" bit obvious some time ago?

I don't think the casually-thrown-in racist comment in that Tucker quote is that remarkable TBH (ie. a bit of a "water is wet" statement about bigots), or the likely toxic masculinity (Trump *guys*, Antifa *kid*), I'm vaguely curious about how the "Antifa kid" is identified as such; is Tucker just labelling anyone who "isn't Trump" as "Antifa", but the bit that interests me is that it's almost as his conscience is prickling him yet the "bothsides" has a deeper root than whatever hole his conscience has been quietly dying in.

IMO Tucker went off the deep end some time ago, but this quote suggests that either he was in danger of turning a positive corner with his bigotry (highly unlikely, but still), or there's an even deeper end that he's in danger of going in to. Either possibility would concern Fox IMO: the possibility that one of the right's most bigoted and influential figures might turn away from the right and the power that would have in their spectrum, or the possibility that Fox was employing someone who's soon to have a psychotic break or about to be at the head of a (likely violent) far-right group that even Fox considers to be heavily damaging to their ideals.

But...but...we are told just stop talking about racism and it goes away.
