I don’t know, I think this shows something different and probably worse. It shows that Fox is controlled by its audience - the audience demands Fox lie to them and if Fox tries to stop its audience will find another network that will.

As this lawsuit mentions Fox really did briefly move towards telling the truth about the election but then they started losing viewers to Newsmax, who was content to continue lying.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't fully agree. That's like saying a cult member demands the cult leader lies, manipulates, and controls them. Or an abused woman demands her boyfriend/husband beats her. All of them do the same thing, they exploit weaknesses, fear, self doubt, emotions, etc, which they use to condition them and control/brainwash them into thinking that it's the way it is supposed to be. What happens when a cult shuts down? The members usually end up in another cult (very few break away from a cult). An abused women finds a new abuser. And.. Fox news audience finds a replacement for what they have been conditioned to believe, because Fox News isn't saying what Fox News conditioned them to believe is the truth.

No, just like the Republican party, they've created a monster that they can no longer control. Their audience/voters.

These texts and e-mails are very bad for Fox News in this lawsuit. They reveals that the Fox News on-air personalities knew it was all bullshit, but continued doing it anyway because they were afraid of antagonizing Trump and losing business to Newsmax.

Yeah this seems like the sort of case you would settle if you were Fox but unfortunately for them if memory serves Dominion has said it has no interest in settling.

Really, I would imagine Fox had at least some idea of how bad discovery would be for them here so the only reason I can think that they would have gone through with it is if Dominion refused to deal?

LOL also from this recent filing -

Bartiromo airs interview with Powell after being told her source claimed to be a time traveller who got messages from "the wind."

I keep saying it - Fox News is going down hard in this lawsuit.

Hoo boy.

FOX to all of their viewers in Jack Nicholson’s voice:
“You want the truth??? YOU’RE TOO DUMBSHIT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS TRUTH!!!”

I’m so ashamed to have graduated from the same school as Sidney fucking Powell. Fuck, my kids drink the same water she drank growing up.

Edit: Wait…how has she not been disbarred yet?????

Edit: Wait…how has she not been disbarred yet?????

The matter of her possible disbarment is going to trial in Texas in April. It was previously set for trial last October, but there was a continuance. The state bar wants her disbarred and have filed suit, but ultimately the decision belongs to a judge. So far the judge assigned to the case refused to dismiss it pursuant to a pre-trial motion last June.

The sad part is no matter what they admit, how much they apologize, their viewers will believe they where telling the truth and it's the deep state making them do it. Fox news needs their license as a legitimate news journalist revoked and they need to be licensed under what ever license a tabloid gets.
They’re already licensed as entertainment, not news.

Yes, Dominion has publicly said they are not interested in settlement. They want a public trial to clear the company's name. That's not such good news for Fox News as they are facing potential punitive damages here as with Alex Jones. And this discovery is dynamite. It corroborates so many things that were alleged in Dominion's original complaint.

Sadly for Dominion I think their business in the US at least is over, I don't see why any elections official would want to court trouble with the crazies by buying their machines. Then again, all the more reason for Dominion to swing for the fences, I guess. If your business is over either way, might as well get paid.

LOL just noticed that text exchange between Fucker and Ingraham, where Ingraham calls Powell a "nut job" and Fucker says he caught her "lying." The money quote, however, is Fucker saying,

"It's unbelievably offensive to me. Our viewers are good people and they believe it."

Yes, Fucker, your viewers are unbelievably gullible, or they wouldn't be your viewers. Who knew?

Yes, this is their 'respect the audience' principle in action. If Fox's audience believes something Fox views it as their job to flatter those beliefs, no matter how ludicrous.

This is of course why Fox is not a credible news organization - it does not view factual, accurate reporting as its most important value.

Minor correction:
[Fox] does not view factual, accurate reporting as having any value.

Entirely about capturing audience share / money, and whatever outrageous lies and entertainment will maximize that. If it happens to be factual by accident, oh well.

Giving the government the power to decide what is a lie.

I wouldn’t be opposed to FCC mandating a 5 second disclaimer ahead of opinion-based reporting on all cable news channels…similar to what’s required for sponsored or paid programming.

“The following program reflects the views and opinions of [Host Name] and their sponsors and are not endorsed by [network]. Any claims presented herein may not be vetted or fact-checked by [network]’s reporters. Retractions will not be issued for any factual errors or inconsistencies.”
