It appears that Sharpton decided to meet with Imus for a second time after the news broke.

Its probably been said before but here it is just in case. He should not have called an entire women basketball teem a bunch of whore on national media.
Make sence to me that he got fired. Good ridance.

We don't need Canucks or any one else not IN the U.S. commenting on U.S. Free Speech issues.

Can I say that a men's basketball team looks like a bunch of thugs with tats all over their arms?
Or are women a protected class?

Do you refuse to believe because you haven't seen the evidence of what pantywaists people in this country have become? Or because you think they're all just saying it to get what they want and to cause a stir?
If Imus had called a majority-white team a bunch of air-headed good-time girls, would he have gotten in trouble? I think not.
Nappy-headed. A description of black people's hair. Maybe derogatory, but not a racist comment. It's a term that describes kinky hair; it gets used as an insult to imply the person doesn't groom properly (and generally includes because they're so poor they live in slums or the ghetto which explains their grooming). When I was in school, black kids walked around insulting each other using that term constantly.
'Ho's. (There needs to be some standardized way of spelling that word.) An insulting word but I don't find it particularly sexist. Just because something refers to or is based on the sex of the person doesn't make it sexist.
I wish just one famous white guy would use the phrase "Suck it" the next time Sharpton or Jackson demands an apology.
Exactly, some attention ho was listening and decided they needed some more attention. The real person(s) who should be blamed for 'tainting' their hokey championship whatever should be those attention whores who got the mob mentality going.Originally posted by: Balt
I think none of the women who are on the Rutgers Women's Basketball team would have ever even heard the comment (I doubt they listen to Imus) if not for all of these "protectors" who told them they should be outraged.

Ironic how the Duke case ended during all this...I saw a segment on CNN about how the Media went ape ****** on the Duke case and all I could think about is, don't they even realize they are doing the SAME THING RIGHT NOW!!
It would also be ironic is CBS dropped him at the end of the week since Thursday and Friday he is doing his fund raiser for his charities.
I never thought I'd be agreeing to anything coming out of Michael Medved's mouth, but for those who saw him on Anderson Cooper who supposedly takes it in the pooper, I was agreeing with every word coming out of his mouth. For those who didn't see it you can read the transcript that will be at CNN.com later.

personally i think thats why this is so hot. they were wrong on the duke case. everyone jumped on that to call the kids racist etc. now they have to back off that.
so now they have a fresh target to make up for it. so they are running with it.
Nothing, just funny and a reference to something uttered on Imus. Whats wrong with you people...Something else ironic, I searched google to see where I originally heard 'Anderson Cooper takes it in the Pooper' and ran across THIS, I remember seeing that on mSNBC now, they were making fun as they do about the Out magazine article. More irony. So I guess it is related, so back off.Originally posted by: Lord Evermore

I actually have more respect for women than you do. You seem to think that they are tools who need defending from the boogiemen people like Reverend Al create, because they can't think for themselves. I know they have a mind of their own and are intelligent enough to discern between a joke in poor taste and a proper racial/gender insult.
Are you even black as your avatar suggests? My guess is that you're one of those white Berkley types who "feels black people's pain" and is compelled to jump in the fray in behalf of them when in fact their outlook probably does not match what the media would have you believe, as people like NFS4 and Dracos have proven in this thread.
