Maybe because NSF4 is a self-respecting human being and doesn't have to stoop low to single himself out as a "race" of people.
It takes a mature individual to brush aside all the piddly name calling and crap and realize there are more important issues in life than to worry about the imature actions that surround you in daily life.

Ooh I love the part where the white guy tells the black guy why he should be offended!

No sh1t, what a retard.

I'm not white. I'm standard Caribbean mixed race, part black.

Well see, that takes some of the wind out of my sails. I still find it funny that you're trying to convince him that he, as a self-respecting black man, should take offense to something.

Just confirmed that the meeting with CBS this morning involved Jackson, and Sharpton calling for the firing of Imus from his last remaining show..

Also, on the agenda, discussions on more exposure for more black artists / entertainers on the airwaves..

Nice.. So, its all a personal agenda from the start with Jackson & Sharpton involved..

He should be fired because he said something mean? Boo ****** hoo. You and everybody else who thinks he deserved to be fired a morons.

In case no one mentioned it, and I'm not gonna read thru to check, Imus is not, nor was he, employed by MSNBC. In fact, he still has his job. MSNBC has dropped his show from their network.

As to the issue, this is an all over the top reaction to what clearly was a remark in jest. The reaction is out of proportion and has made Imus the victim.

Glad that Imus at least had the balls to step up and do something to cancel his show, the radio listening public sure did not.

Good riddance!

i'm sure they are cranked up from michael richards, but that dude was a dead end for applying any leverage. so now they have their chance to dig their claws in.

you know, this is the kind of bullsh*t that creates republicans. these sh*t heads should be expelled from democratic functions.

I hope XM picks him up. CBS's stupid loss is XM's (Sirius too kinda, aren't they in merger talks) gain.
Not even allowing him to finish his fund raiser is just sick, CBS should be boycotted for that, denying more funds for kids with cancer.
Hell, I think they should have waited to decide until he met with the team. Jesus H. Christ!!

Well, the PC movement continues to pvssify America. Truth, who cares about truth? Fact, who cares about fact? As long as the "PC" version of life wins.

<--- Know what Imus said but doesn't know why he said it. Is the Rutgers basketball team really that bad?

I know what nappy means. I know what n*gger means. I know that my excellent compatriot means, I know what porch monkey means. I know what Uncle Tom means.

Don't sit there and try to tell me what I do and do not know regarding terms.

I just don't take offense when someone says something stupid like nappy headed. I have bigger things to worry about than what someone who doesn't know me thinks of me. If someone called me a "n!gger," I wouldn't take offense, but I'd feel pity for the person that thinks that using the word would somehow make me feel bad or feel some undue harm. Quite the contrary, I'd see it more as weakness on their part to stoop to the lowest of the low just for the hell of it.

As for the "White girls that I have dated?" My GF is the first white girl that I have dated and I have been with her for 3 and a half years and have known her for almost eight.

And if she called me nappy-headed, big nosed fat lipped dork, I'd in turn tell her that her dad is a short, big-nosed Greek with crooked teeth. We'd laugh, then go make out.

Life is too short to get worked up over petty insults.

I wish more people felt like you do (all races and religions).

I honestly couldn't believe it when the Rutgers team did their press conference and said how hurt and offended they were. Why did they care at all what some old white guy whom they've never met said tongue-in-cheek on a radio show? Even when someone is really meaning words like those it just makes them look sad and pathetic.

This is ridiculous. Now Sharpton seems to be suggesting that the airwaves need regulation from this sort of thing. If we censor such vaguely racist comments using the federal government, I won't need to buy toilet paper next week because I can wipe my ass with the Constitution.

One good thing that came of this was that Drudge ran a headline all day that showed Sharpton's hypocrisy by not apologizing to the Duke athletes. Also I never cared for Imus so that doesn't really affect me.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!:|

What a ****** crock of ******. They don't fire Tom Joyner, Doug Banks or any of the other black morning-show DJ's and they ADVERTISE, GLORIFY & IDOLIZE rappers and black comedians that call black women ho's and bitches, call white people crackers, whiteys & rednecks, and call jews hymies. This is such BS.

Now is the time for Imus to find some balls somewhere and make a stand. He should take back the apologies and tell everyone to grow a ****** spine...it was a radio talk-show. He needs to take the fight straight to Sharpton, Jackson and all the other black racists out there that stand on a crutch and keep their own people down while fleecing them of their money and support.

Imus and others need to take a stand NOW and take to task everyone who is swinging the 'condemning stick'. If this firing stands, then every black celebrity, talk show host, DJ, comedian, et al that has uttered "redneck, honkey, whitey, cracker, etc" had better issue a personal apology to me and every other white person out there or be fired and stripped of their ability to make future income by being labeled a racist. Oh wait, we can't do that because only black people are allowed to sling racial insults and use inappropriate words in society.

What a ****** crock...did I already say that?
