I put this in the & thread but decided it could use some commentary. How do people justify defending this type of shit still? This is just pure bullshit. This man is the god damned president for Christ sake.

You think it's bad now wait until the election draws closer. There will be no limit on what crazy dangerous lies he'll be willing to tell.

As a person he's beyond contempt. Historians will struggle to portray the totality of his awfulness.

Lol.. Trump turning on those who don't quite toe the line:

Here's what Napolitano said. Since Trump hasn't read the Mueller report, and his knowledge of its conclusions has come from what he's watched on Fox News, we can now assume that he's seen the Napolitano clip, and it's finally dawning on him what deep shit he's in.

Also...It's funny how whenever someone who used to be his pal criticizes him, Loser Donald says it's because they asked him for something (a government job, a pardon, money, etc.) and he said NO!. It's as if he can't imagine the notion of being nice to another human being without expecting to get something out of them. Perhaps at some point Trump was capable of being nice to someone in order to sell them something, but right now he doesn't seem to be able to reach beyond "being 'nice'" (sometimes for very strange definitions of nice) "to someone unless they're actively stroking his ego".

Alternatively, it also seems to show that he cannot conceptualize the notion of people disagreeing him because he's wrong ; rather it's always because he (Trump) didn't dole out the goodies or some other unrelated reason. It can't be that Napoletano said what he said because it's the truth or his considered opinion as a law scholar : it has to have an ulterior, dishonest and ultimately pettily spiteful motive. It suggests that what he said "isn't" the truth or even his truth, just saying whatever as long as it hurts a target. One idly wonders if there's not more reflexive projection going on there than in a bukkake video

This isn't "Donald Trump" speaking, but..it might as well be going by the idiocy:

Lara Trump: Merkel admitting migrants 'one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany'

President Trump's daughter-in-law Lara Trump remarked Thursday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to allow migrants into the country was "one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany."

“When there was a march across Europe by a million people who wanted to get into Western Europe, Angela Merkel let them in,” Fox Business host Stuart Varney said during an interview with Lara Trump, an adviser on President Trump's reelection campaign, on the network.

“It was the downfall of Germany, it was one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany,” Trump responded. “This president knows that, he’s trying to prevent that from happening here.”

Wait....Germany fell? Why was this not reported anywhere?

"The Haters and Losers in the Fake News Media refuse to report on my great Success in stopping our Country from falling (like Germany did!) so they can deny "Trump" a Great win. Apologize!"

I fully expect a re-tweet to correcting it to being "the worst thing since the fall of Hitler." With the question of whether this means that worse stuff happened before the fall of Hitler, or Hitler's fall itself being bad, left up to the audience... :

"Many fine people in Germany were treated very unfairly by our military under Lazy Frankie Roosevelt - who, many people are finding out, was a Democrat."

Now this, the NRA investigation is/was illegal.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/29/politics/trump-nra-investigation-new-york/index.html

"The NRA is under siege by (New York Gov. Andrew) Cuomo and the New York State A.G., who are illegally using the State's legal apparatus to take down and destroy this very important organization, & others," Trump wrote in a tweet. "It must get its act together quickly, stop the internal fighting, & get back to GREATNESS - FAST!"
On Saturday, New York Attorney General Letitia James' office announced in a statement it had launched an investigation into the NRA and had issued subpoenas to the organization, but did not confirm what the probe was in regard to.
The investigation comes after a dispute between the group's president, Oliver North, and chief executive officer, Wayne LaPierre, in which North accused LaPierre of financial misconduct, including the improper use of $200,000 of NRA funds to purchase clothing from an NRA vendor, according to the Wall Street Journal.

I'm assuming Trump gets a crazy idea like that, (from The New York Times): And it's an easy mark to project onto Democrats and Democrats alone

"What happens in rare cases when a baby is born alive after a pregnancy is cut short?
Dr. [Daniel] Grossman [professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco] said there were painful situations in which the fetus might be at the edge of viability and labor must be induced to save the mother’s life. For instance, a condition called pre-eclampsia, involving high blood pressure and other problems, can kill both mother and fetus, and in most cases the only treatment is to deliver the baby. If it seems unlikely that the baby will survive, the family may choose to provide just comfort care — wrapping and cuddling the baby — and allow the child to die naturally without extreme attempts at resuscitation."

The saga continues: https://www.mediaite.com/tv/napolit...-air-response-this-is-how-you-treat-a-friend/

Trump could’ve ignored the criticisms, but he instead responded the way he always does: by publishing some unfortunate tweets.

The president wrote over the weekend that Napolitano’s argument was “very dumb,” and was actually the result of corrupt motives. “Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile!” Trump wrote. “Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good ‘pal’ of low ratings Shepard Smith.”

I don’t know why Trump included the word “pal” in quotes, though the president has repeatedly made clear that he doesn’t know how quotation marks work.

Legal professor Orin Kerr noted soon after, “In Trump’s world, everyone who turns on him at one point asked him for a favor and was turned down, making Trump the top dog in the end.” Kerr published a list of examples, and it wasn’t brief.

Napolitano himself responded this morning, denying Trump’s claims, and taking the dispute one step further.

In terms of the “pardon” situation, Napolitano said Trump once asked for his opinion about the conviction of a “mutual friend” of theirs. Napolitano said he thought that the conviction was just, to which, Trump offered “a very strong term” to express his disagreement.

“He said, ‘You know this person as well as I do. Call this person up and tell this person he’s going to be on the list of pardons that I will seriously consider.’ That was the extent of that conversation.”

Well, that’s sort of interesting, isn’t it? Did Trump really urge the Fox News legal analyst to dangle a pardon to a mutual friend? Why would he do that?

Trump needs a golf cart to travel any walkable distance further than from the White House to Marine One:

Trump rode golf cart while G7 leaders walked through Sicily

President Trump chose to ride in a golf cart while his foreign counterparts took a walk through Taormina, Sicily, on Saturday during the Group of Seven summit.

The Times of London reported the six other world leaders — from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan — walked 700 yards to take a group photo at a piazza in a hilltop town. The U.S. leader decided to wait until he could get a golf cart.

700 yards. For such a young and vibrant and healthiest president ever -- SAD!

I'm gonna assume he's just not comfortable walking any distance in elevator shoes. Or maybe his bone spurs were acting up again.

Holy shit! He has tweeted or retweeted over 60 tweets (some from Trump haters) in a 20 minute period, nearly all pertaining to Biden getting some firefighters union endorsement.

The pressure of explosive Twitterrhea is so bad his tiny thumbs can't keep up, so he has to retweet drivel from other morons..

he also found time on his busy schedule to crap out a bunch of what read like reruns. Wall, - check. No collusion, - check. Russian hacking was Obama's fault, - check. I'm being treated so unfairly, poor poor pitiful me. - check. Investigate the investigators, check.

What is he even talking about here? What is the context?

For that you will need Trump's interpreter by the name of Rude Rudy Giuliani who will explain in very clear yet uncertain terms what Trump is or is not saying (with plausible deniability) the known facts as he heard them from his BBF Hannity who got his raw data from and deciphered it with the assistance of "people who have been saying".
