The petroleum industry kills about 20 times more birds than windmills but yes raptors and other species especially during migrations are at risk, however that does not mean that it is not possible to mitigate that with solutions being proposed. Some places may need to have limited operational hours or not be allowed in certain areas.

As for me in upstate NY? We're building solar collector farms and I can't think of a single hawk killed as a result, and solar is a bigger threat to Trump but he's also working to kill that. Of course, Trump could be in theory responsible and work towards making all energy sources ecologically responsible including wind, but in practice he's incapable.
