The Constitution regularly gets in their way of creating a State Religion of the USA. They want to legislate their beliefs into law so as to ensure their existence as THE preeminent theocratic influence on the body politic of the nation.

That have wholeheartedly endorsed Trump as the righteous holy sword they are using to cut a swath through the limits the Constitution has placed on their designs but is not working the way they thought it would. Rather, their choice of weapon turns out to be a fake rubber knife whose point always seems turn back on the user whenever a thrust at the Constitution is made with it.

Trump won't be able to stop this.

NY will allow legislators to view Trump's NY tax returns which are the same for all practical purposes. Of course he can sue NY but this is a NY issue and he'll have to pony up as a private citzen to almost certainly lose. What will happen then? No one knows.
