I know it is a couple years old but I just watched Trump: An American Dream and thought it was well done. Anyone else catch this doc on Netflix? My recollection of Trump was he was a moronic blowhard in the 80s and 90s but did not recall him having the hateful attack mentality back then. Maybe because I grew up on the west coast but I mistakenly though that was something he picked up as he got older.
Donald is a victim of Fox News, like tens of millions of his fellow Americans. Thats the real irony here. We keep blaming Donald for everything but the truth is this crap is mostly Rupert Murdochs fault.

I am not sure about that. Fox is insane but what is their viewership? I don't think it is large enough for that to be the case.

Fox set the stage for the Trump presidency, 'tis true. OTOH, once that was done, every time Trump lied they swore it was true, particularly the stolen election bullshit. Trump created that with insurrection being his last desperate attempt to overturn an honest election.

The GOP members in congress made it seem like it was a legitimate look into the election results. Just need to make sure every legal vote is counted they said. I blame them more than anyone else.

Please. They pushed the other side of it, the "illegal votes" swung the election scam & the "we need 10 days for an emergency audit" scam. When Trump's mob chased them from their chambers, they came back & acted like nothing had happened.

The Trump loyalist like Cruz did . Others like McConnel simply refused to acknowledge how insane the stop the steal was. All are responsible. The GOP is a party without morals.

That's what made me shake my head in amazement. Yet, it seems the shadow of Trump is still haunting the halls of Congress spooking most of the Repubs into being the cowering insurrectionist sympathisers that they've become. They have no credibility to barter with, they have no pride, no reputations to protect. They're standing buck nekkid in front of the nation acting as if they're all dressed up for another celebratory party get together like the one they had when they passed that tax cut legislation for their uber rich political patron saints.

Trumps latest grift on the GOP is that he will use the millions he grifted from from the stop the steal campaign to fund candidates who are loyal to him. Dumb asses are still being scammed by a conman.

The gift that keeps on giving. At this point in time Trump should claim those contributions as charitable income to help him heal that beat to a pulp humiliated ego of his that insists he could never lose being such an attractive well liked kind of genius and all.

He and his supporters deserve each other in the most pitiful kind of way.

Can someone even tell me the Senate politics behind still supporting Trump? I can only imagine that is the reason these people are cravenly still supporting him. But I just don't understand how it helps them.

Simplest explanation is they want to get reelected, and their voters are Trump supporters.

“Trump sends legal notice…”.

An Onion writer somewhere is crumpling up another “too weird to be true” article.

Maybe he’ll demand 20% of all funds raised by using his name. Trump’s legal quibble is entirely about making sure he gets a cut of the action, nothing more. But it’s amusing nonetheless.

Also ... It’s cute how the Republicans still think Trump cares about the long term fate of the Republican Party.

I don't know the legal ins-and-outs of it all but my personal preferred response would be something like "We'll honor your request to stop raising funds off your name when you honor the dozens of requests from artists to stop raising funds off their music."

Homecoming Ever? Trump Greeted By A Single Supporter In New York Return.

"By Monday, a handful of supporters had gathered outside Trump Tower with signs and flags, as well as a group of counterprotesters with a giant inflatable rat dressed like Trump and “Arrest Trump” banners.
One demonstrator in New York on Monday held up a “Florida man go home” sign. "

Effing orange menace, also known as the COVID-19 accomplice serial killer.

This is so weird. Either this Trump guy is gonna bring on the end of the GQP or the beginning of the apocalypse. I mean think about it. If Trump pulls this off, whatever is gonna be left of GQP is gonna be full onset anti democratic fascist takeover of America and by laws of dominos the rest of the west will fall... Or you will have democratic rule for the next 40 years while conservatives try to scramble into dems rather than progressive dems! Can it really play out any other way? .... Yea Trump goes to jail at Mitch gets his GOP back... but riiiiiiiight.

Looks to me like Trump not only wants exclusive control over the way his image is being used, he wants to get paid every time the GOP shows or mentions his name.

Side note.
Mitch's wife is most likely going to join now also.

Looks like he will be dancing on the GOP's grave. The Trump Ego party won't be successful, so keep up the good work for once in your life.

Probably explains the exits.

Senate Republicans keep bailing out for 2022, opening the door for more Trumpers | Salon.com

The writing is on the wall, argues GOP strategist Susan Del Percio, citing the retaliatory measures numerous state Republican parties have taken against members of their party who voted to impeach Trump. But Del Percio sees danger here: Shifting further to the Trumpian right would further undermine the possibility of substantive policy debate and open the door for more Democratic wins, she said.

Even his Sec of Defense says the orange menace is responsible.

"Trump's own defense secretary says it's 'pretty much definitive' he caused the Capitol riot"

""The question is, would anybody have marched on the Capitol and overrun the Capitol without the president's speech?" Miller asked. "I think it's pretty much definitive that wouldn't have happened." "
