I didn't say Trump per se. I said the headsets of his supporters. If Trump died tomorrow they'd still be just as crazy. Trump just exploited what was already there, laid down by decades of corrosive right wing propaganda.

They're hell bent on destroying the left, not through words of wisdom (because... Come on) but through violence, repression, aligning with an enemy, worshipping a false God (right under their own God's nose), a willingness to give up democracy for a hate structure... At his most recent rally in PA, he claimed that he put coal miners back to work. They know full well that he hasn't, but they cheered when he said it anyway. When it's revealed that Putin's boys helped Trump mess with their minds, 40% of Republicans say they won't mind if it happens again, apparently because it feels good to be manipulated by our adversaries.

None of this is normal. They've gone from believing that Obama tried to be a dictator (what a joke, huh?) to following a man obviously more inclined to be just that in an eye blink. When the situation demands some real thinking, they just chant "Lock her up!" & dote on his every word.

Except when the GOP is actively trying to find ways to subvert the system. We have seen gerrymandering, voter suppression (and simply making it difficult to vote), and an odd resistance to investigating foreign influence in our election process. All of which have helped put them into power. So left to their devices (as they currently are) they can permanently alter the system in their favor.

I am sure many thought the system would work as expected in 1930's Germany as the Nazis used the system to change it and irrevocably put themselves into power. You may agree with the message from the GOP (although it certainly doesn't match their policies) but gaming the system to permanently alter ot for their benefit is BS. This is the danger of the cult. They are the useful idiots being used by the GOP to install themselves as the oligarchy ruling our country.

It's precisely because we do get outside of the echo chamber that we're concerned.

There is a a cult of personality surrounding Trump where they're convinced he can do no wrong, no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary (and there's a mountain of evidence). They're fooled into thinking he's "draining the swamp" by appointing cabinet members who make any previous corruption seem modest. They're convinced his policies are successful but can't actually quantify it. They sincerely believe the media's job is to compliment Trump and toe the party line. And of course, they see no problem with a President who lies about virtually everything, all the time.

Heh, since when is it that facing the truths about Trump, acknowledging this and sharing opinions in regards to what can be done about him "crazy?". These discussions lead to a higher level of understanding and awareness of the man and the egregious problems he is causing the nation.

It's a construct of logic that I adhere to because an exchange of opinions based on facts and truths is always a good thing as in this case it exposes the damaging results of the hate and fear filled propaganda that's been a hallmark of the GOP's approach to keeping power in their hands for nigh on decades, culminating in the Rise of Trump and his deceitful, narcissistic, spiteful, egotistical arrogant approach to governance.
