When I click on the link for the rebate, the rebate form I get shows that qualifying items must have been purchased between 09/28/03 and 9/30/03. Did anyone call to see if it's still going?

Just got off the phone with CC rebate center, CSR said this rebate is good thru 10/4/03. I would pick this up instore for the print out of the rebate to be sure. Looks like is good to go!

$50 with a $50 bill credit. 12 month agreement. And the recording is either free (with you buying the big honking package) or $10/month for the rinky-dinky deal (50 channels) . In between its $5 month.

actually the rebate is still online just that the item has been updated not a show there's a rebate anymore as today is 10/1/03 and the rebates were from 9/28-9/30

Hi All... The link CheryBOMB posted was my personal PDF I created/decided to share. Thanks CheryBOMB for spreading the link! I've read elsewhere that if people doing in store pick up for the HDVR2 are getting rebate printouts that show the valid 10/04 dates as well so hopefully this doesnt turn into a big problem. This deal is definitely HOT!

Here is a mirror of the $50 rebate form with 10/4 expiration.

I have roughly 40GB of bandwidth sitting around unused so I am not too concerned about AT and FW leeching my bw

The rebates are still good, in store the rebate prints with the receipt... its 99.99 + $50 MIR. This is for EXSISTING customers, for new customers it is FREE. It has TWO $50 MIR... one for the tivo and one for $50 for 1 room package.

Just got back from CC and bought one

A few observations:
Shelf tag price was $249 - $50 rebate = $199
At the register price it rang up as $99.99
3 things printed out, sales receipt, DirecTv contract (which I had to SIGN) stating if this was not activated within 30 days my cc would be charged $150, and $50 rebate

The $50 rebate which printed at the register does show valid dates of 9/28 - 10/4

This was in Portland, Oregon.

rossman, im interested in gettng this but apparently you have to do a whole lot more than just buy the box.

what are the fees for the service and stuff? do i HAVE to purchase them now? i ask because im in college right now and wouldnt really have much use for it but in a few months ill be back at home and will definitely want to have the directivo to use.... i dont want to iss out on this great price?

so, the question is, what else do i have to buy along with the box?

I think if you sign up for NEW DirecTV service (which you HAVE to have) within the first 30 days you get the TIVO for _FREE_

The service is around $45 - $80/mo and required within the first 30 days.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I just got back from buying one at the local store (Tigard, Orgon) too. As RossMan mentioned, the store price tag was $199 after rebate. The salesman could not believe his eyes when it showed $99 and he was totally surprised that the $50 rebate printed, so he went back and made sure he had correctly eneterd my data as being a current Directv customer.

This is an excellent deal, specially for current subscribers who want to give Tivo a try... thanks to Snachface!

Great deal, just got me a second one for the bedroom with this deal, ordered mine and paid for it, local CC was out but my receipt shows it was purchased yesterday and the rebate printed out with it, the only "catch" I see with this deal is the agreement to activate within 30 days, which everyone should do anyway the way I see it. Now I've just gotta figure out how to add the 160GB HDD to my other HDVR2.

No, it's $5 per unless you have Total Choice PREMIER (~$85/month). Basic Total Choice packages still charge an extra $5/month for TIVO service.

WELL, with basic DirectTIVO at least, if you don't plug in the phone line it gives you warning messages daily (after a week or so) and eventually does stop working (after a month or so). The DirecTV service isn't affected though.
