1. Wait till 7 or 8pm your local time before you call it quits.

2. Understand that storms in other areas affect your deliver since their trucks or planes might have to fly through some.

3. Understand that when other areas are delayed, it could affect your delivery since other packages are causing a bottleneck at their hubs.

4. Understand that processing time does not mean shipping time. Your process does appeared to have been rush processed as your order was shipped out within 1 business day of you ordering it.

5. What on earth did you buy that would cost $30 to ship an 8lb. package?

Nope. I wouldn't put myself in that "situation" in the first place, and even if I did I wouldn't blame Newegg for FedEx's shortcoming. That's ridiculous.

It isn't right.
Newegg is known for great shipping, I guess, because most packages shipped with UPS.

Newegg HAS RESPONSABILITY choosing right carriers. Fedex isn't best known carrier. UPS is.
Our shipping manager has dropped Fedex Ground services because of problems Fedex caused. We did dropped DHL because of the same issues.
However, we don't have any problems with UPS, I've ordered a lot from Newegg, never was a problem, when item was shipped UPS.
I had problem, when something I ordered, they used DHL/USPS for shipping.

OP is a customer of Newegg, so he has to deal on all issues with Newegg, not with Fedex, like some boneheads suggested. IT IS Newegg's RESPONSABILITY to contact and deal with Fedex - a carrier they've chosen to ship merchandise on this - OP issue.
Of course, Newegg has to refund $$$ customer pays for Overnight shipping and if customer doesn't receive merchandise Overnight - Next day, Newegg should simply refuse charges to Fedex...

Now,
I'm not sure about Fedex Overnight shipping, but it might be similar to UPS.
UPS has several Next Day options:
NDA Early AM - guaranteed by 10AM
NDA - guaranteed by noon
NDA Saver - guaranteed by 3pm
Also, UPS have NDA Saturday Delivery. It means, you can ship on friday and package will be delivered next day - on saturday.

LOL most of you are just picking on the OP. It's so easy to call someone a cry baby when they're venting. I bet most of you (jackasses) would flip your lid too if you were in his situation.

More than I could agree.
Most(if not all on this tread) would be pissed off as much as OP is...
Own Shit Never Smells....

Maybe your experience is different, but I've had fewer problems with FedEx than UPS. But also, UPS is Newegg's default carrier, so the OP had to have specifically selected FedEx.

yea..I did it for Christmas.

$4 per item

Newegg may have a special rate for each "item" but most carriers will bill you by the pound and it's not cheap for true, next day air (not sure if Newegg is doing true, next day air or is using the bullshit, next day service in which they use logistics to ship ground from a location close to where it's going).

Also, was the $4 rate per item with UPS or with FEDEX or Both?

I just did a Next Day Air from Knoxville, TN to Lexington, KY (Newegg is somewhere in Tennessee so I picked Knoxville) using a 10 x 10 x 8 package at 8 pounds and came up with this (Next Day Air Saver):

UPS Next Day Air Saver®
Latest Pickup Time:
7:00 P.M. Thursday
December 27, 2012
Schedule by :
6:00 P.M.

Days In Transit: 1
Delivered By:
By End of Day Friday
December 28, 2012
Guaranteed

50.22 USD *
Billable Weight:
8.0 lbs.

From California to Lexington:

UPS Next Day Air Saver®
Latest Pickup Time:
5:00 P.M. Thursday
December 27, 2012
Schedule by :
4:00 P.M.

Days In Transit: 1
Delivered By:
3:00 P.M. Friday
December 28, 2012

100.05 USD *
Billable Weight:

Nope. Amazon.

If an item is Prime eligible (shipped by Amazon), I have yet to not get it next day as long as I order by 7pm EST. $4 and I have yet to have any kind of problem.

But this time of year I always expect it to take a day to leave the warehouse. It never does but I leave that buffer just in case.

Look at his tracking screenshot. It did not ship at 12:30 on 12/24. What happened was newegg printed the label. Shipping time does not start until its picked up by a truck. If 12:30 missed the pickup by FedEx for that day, then he is screwed as they wouldn't be picking it up till today. NBD from the date/time it was picked up. Not from when "Shipping Info Transmitted". Why is this so hard to understand?

Vic, what does tracking look like today for the package? I'm assuming your screenshot was from 12/24. Show us a current screenshot.

That was literally the screen shot from a few hours ago when I made that post.

Still no package for everyone claiming to wait until 8:00 PM.

As was posted in the OP, this is NBD so overnight. Rates are high. This is not free shipping.

I'm assuming Amazon is not shipping true next day air though, they are using logistics and a "rush out fee" to hurry the shipment out the door to you. Regardless, if you're using Prime and paid for Prime (most people do unless you get the free trial), you're paying for the shipping up front and getting it back on the shipment of packages. Amazon, on average, is not losing money on Prime. If so, they would raise the price.

OP, if you paid by credit card, contact them and file a claim. If you paid newegg for a service they failed to deliver on, you're entitled to a refund. Whether or not the parcel carrier is swamped due to storms, the holidays, attack sharks with lasers on their heads, is completely irrelevant. That's not your problem.

Your job as a customer is to pay for what you want. The job of the seller is to give you what you paid for. Just ask newegg if next time you place an order you could maybe pay them $30 less than what the total is, see if they'll ship your order out.

If they expect full payment, then you expect full receipt of the product and services for which you've paid. People always say to me I need to be more understanding when a business I deal with fails to deliver on their promise. When you screw up, you compensate the customer in a tangible way--"We're sorry for the inconvenience" just doesn't cut it.

Glad to see another reasonable person around here.

Fedex is no Santa Claus.

They can't deliver everywhere at the same time like he does, especially in the Xmas period.

Just got an email from Newegg in which they assured me the item was absolutely shipped on the 24th for NBD service by 3:00 PM today the 26th. Newegg has done absolutely nothing to figure out where the package is or when I will get it, simply that IF I get it and it's "delayed" to contact them back and then they will help me...

Here is what the tracking looks like as of a few minutes ago:

The other thing is the tracking could be screwed up by the carrier. USPS did that to me a couple months ago. They sent it to the wrong place, never updated the tracking info, then taped a new tracking number on it (like that would do me any good?) and reshipped it to my place. In the end I got it but the original tracking was all goofed and had both I and the seller confused.

I still think you're overreacting. Especially if you've supposedly ordered "thousands" in the past without problem. Which also begs the question, if "every order you've placed with them has had a problem" then why have you ordered so much from them?

Also, your image is busted. Use a real image host site, not some lame thing like that

I have had Newegg do that to me before (not on Next Day shipping) and after contacting them (about 3 days after it was supposed to have been shipped), it magically shows up on the shipping company radar as picked up. I suspect that it was lost in Newegg's vast warehouse and is sitting there in a corner (or label was hosed up by an automated label machine) and nobody knows where it's going, especially when Newegg has virtually stopped putting packing lists in many boxes (or at least mine).

what time did you place the order? after a certain time it defaults to the next day.

11:15 AM EST on 12/23/2012.

I paid for rush processing (which Newegg has said they will refund but I haven't seen it yet) and overnight-NBD shipping for 12/26/2012 by 3:00 PM which cost me $30 and change.

IMO, you deserve a full refund of shipping and rush processing charges as well as a coupon amount (i.e. $20 off $20) for the issue, but that's just me.

Perhaps you should contact a lawyer. You're due millions for mental anguish.

I lol'd. I also found the Humble Pie reference earlier amusing. What the hell is with people lately? I can't see how you'd legitimately expect it to ship on xmas day. Holy unreasonable expectations batman.
