They suck. Lost to the worst team in the league which makes them even worse.

F the Redskins

Well if it makes you feel better, I think Cleveland is probably the worst team in the league.

Gotta stick with your team in good times and bad, it makes those good times sooooo much sweeter.

Colts fan here -- I've had my share of 1-15, 2-14, and 3-13 seasons as well. It is great to have a local team no matter how bad they might be and when they finally do get over the hump, it is really a great feeling.

Indians aren't so hot this year either. Reds are full of meh.

Indians just loves trading away their top players. Reds, no idea what the hell is wrong with them.

At least the Tigers are giving me something local to root for, though I hate supporting that terrible state of Michigan. note: that has nothing to do with being an Ohio State student, rather, being a neighbor of Michigan (live in Toledo, very close to border) and recognizing what an awful state Michigan really is. Sorry Michigan residents, it's true.
Blame it on the state government, the economy is just terrible and they've done nothing to boost confidence. When the star city has been one of the worst cities in the nation for decades, it doesn't help.

I like to root for Ohio teams when I can, thank god I don't follow pro football or the Browns and Bengals, mostly the Browns, would have me in an unrecoverable depression.

I have to root for the Tigers though. Local ball club is the Tigers, as the Toledo Mudhens are their AAA team. And then there is hockey - Blue Jackets finally started going somewhere last year, but it's always been about Detroit, and again, the Toledo team is the ECHL Redwings affiliate. Looking forward to their return this year with the new arena finally complete, been a few seasons without a team. Head coach is returning, so I am very excited to go to a few of those games... new arena looks awesome.

Holds true that Toledo is Detroit Jr - bad economy locally too, and sadly to root for local sports means I must support the Detroit teams. Other than basketball - cannot stand that sport. It's fun watching Tigers players who I watched play in Toledo.

I think the Lions are probably better than the Browns, Bucs, and Rams and likely on par with teams like the Skins and Raiders. Not sure where the Chiefs fall in the equation either, but likely at or below Detroit as well.

At least the Pirates are headed in the right direction right now. Huntington has done the right thing over the last two seasons by trading away the guys he knows won't be around to see the team win for prospects that will help. It also is a great sign that he hasn't brought in any over-the-hill-way-too-expensive FAs. The next season or two will still be painful, but the Pirates are loading up on talent and should turn themselves into a pretty good team.

Haven't they been saying that about the pirates like every year. I always hear Pirates fans get all excited after the first month of the season when they have a better than usual record, and then I hear about how the team is improving. Then the same thing as always happens. They take a nose dive and finish below 500.

Coming from a fan of team that just lost 19 straight games, a team that has one playoff victory in over 50 years, and a team that employed the dumbest general manager in all of football for longer than the Bush administration, I think you're so called suffering is weak.

No, that's what the Pirates have been saying about the Pirates.

The truth is that Huntington has done a pretty good job there, it's just that things need to get slightly worse before they get better. Look at the prospects that are slowing coming out of Pittsburgh. IMO, if I were a fan I'd least start getting vaguely interested again. Some of the trades he's made haven't been so great but, overall I think most people agree the organization is headed in the right direction.

As for a salary cap -- please!

edit: as in, "please can we have one" not the sarcastic "oh please!"

OP is NOT a true fan. True fan = stick it out throught the good and bad times.

<<----been a Miami Dolphins fan for the last 20 plus years, since Marino was a rookie and the Marks brothers so he knows a few things about sucky team.

At least my Cards (MLB) and Tigers (NCAAFB) are not doing so bad this year.

i still love the skins. their losses are almost comical. dan snyder knows how to make a profitable team. i really dont think he cares that its not a successful team.

as long as he can keep charging people $25 to park over a mile away...

Wow what a loser. Last time the Redskins won a Super Bowl was 1991. Same as my hometown Minnesota Twins, and both teams have been back to the playoffs a few times since then. And I haven't abandoned the Twins. Nor have I abandoned the Vikings even though they had some bad seasons in the last few years (although they've been pretty good of late). The Vikings have never won a Super Bowl ever!

So quit your whining.

meh...I don't blame you OP. You owe nothing to these sports teams...not your hard earned $$$, not your support.

IMO, they have to earn it.

Lots of people get their panties in a knot when people talk about changing teams because their previous favorite sux...Guess what, there's nothing wrong with that. If the team can't perform, why support them?

This doesn't mean you need to change your "allegiance" to whatever team is the current leader every 2-3 months, but there's nothing wrong with giving up on a team you've supported for years.

On the other hand, I've been a Steelers fan since the early 60's. I've seen seasons where they should have stayed home and let a group of high school kids play in their stead...but still rooted for them. Same with the Pittsburgh Pirates. (and they've had some TERRIBLE years) However, I haven't been a "die-hard fan" for many years. I no longer care about stats, (team or player) I no longer buy team merchandise, and I don't live to watch the next game.

I've rooted for the Seahawks since they formed that franchise in the 70's. They've sucked far more often than they've done well. I'm NOT a "fanatic-fan" for them either, but I still root for them to win.

To me, being a "die-hard fan" of a team that is just a large corporation full of over-paid spoiled people who get paid MILLIONS of $$$ to play a game is crazy. People who talk about "We're going to win this game, WE are going to the Super Bowl," are laughable to me.
When's the last time the team invited you over for dinner? When's the last time they came to your house for drinks?

Sorry sports fans, YOU are not part of the team...no matter how important you THINK you are, you're just a sucker.

Oh yeah I am giving up on Dale Earnhardt Jr. this year as well. He sucks.

Gave him a year to get use to the changeover and know no excuses.

It ain't the team it is the driver. He got my support default from his dad but no more

Lions fan here. Grew up watching the awful 80s teams. I basked in Barry Sanders' glory and then died a little inside when he retired. It's been nothing but pain since then. But ya gotta hold on. Hopefully a rise to at least mediocrity/average is near. One step at a time.

they are 1-2, just like the defending superbowl champs as well as the runner ups.

granted, the skins have looked like complete ass this season, they are making progress on the offensive side as far as moving the ball.

the skins are in a rebuilding phase right now. this is the 2nd year they've had consistency in a long long time. they aren't going to go 16-0, get with reality. their 6-2 start last year was somewhat of a fluke too.

im just as frustrated as the next skins fan, but skins for life here.
