Jump your battery or fill a low tire. I have one of these and are a lifesaver. Not only for me but people that are in need of help.

Ouch... shipping kills it. 17.13 for ground shipping. That's almost as much as the charger itself. You can get these kits for around 40 at WalMart I believe.

so, you'd save 2 bucks and the chance of driving around before you're protected by buying this one online...

That thing looks like a piece of junk. Do you have this exact model OP? I think this would be a hot deal with free shipping but, as is, I'll pass.

Actually I do have the same one. Looks and feels like well not like a $60 one but then again I didnt want to pay $60 for it
Works great as a $20 one just fine. Blown up one tire, 2 balls, and jumped my van 5 times.

And no I didnt jump my van blowing two balls while filling a tire

I got this at Costco about 2 weeks ago cuz my gf kept forgetting to turn off her lights. I think they were selling it for $30-40 there. It looks exactly like what's on the website, but it's black. I haven't tried out the tire inflater, but the jumper works beautifully.

Nope just finding why Jokersmoke likes doing it so much. I have nothing better to do with my time at the moment so thought I would point out some more christmas gift ideas I have come across

I got the same one from ebay 1 year ago, paid more than $30 for it. It works fine even though it doesn't look stylish.

Wait, what? You were jumping in 5 vans and blowing balls while standing on a tire?

I do not have a part number or anything, but I've owned both a lower-priced one of these that happened to be yellow, and a twice as expensive black model. The yellow was quite awful and often had a hard time jumping my V8 truck -- better luck w/ the honda car. The black one is a champ, starts anything anytime.

Do you leave the unit plugged into the cigarette lighter all the time to keep it charged?

This could be a lifesaver for someone who can't get started out in the boonies at twenty below.

they hold a charge for a few weeks, plug in at home every once in awhile or in cigarette charges.

I also bought a cheap power inverter for about $15 bucks. With this battery jumper and the power inverter I can use my laptop in the backyard (wifi connected) all day.

If its a SLA (sealed lead acid) battery (i.e. car battery) it should hold a charge for a good long time. I've left a car outside a couple months between starting it before, and the car started right up.

Good deal, these things are great. If you have a harbor freight near you they usually have them 29.99 + tax.
They use the same type batteries in some back-ups, sealed lead.

Nope. They have a power cord that is in a compartment that plugs into the device and into a wall socket. The cig lighter is to power stuff.

The instructions say that you should either recharge every 3 months, or leave it continuously charging.
