I'd say shit no, but so many people eat crap dogs where it doesn't matter for shit what they put on it. I'd wager money if they were eating a Sabrett dog they wouldn't want to put ketchup on it. It's mind blowing how hard it is to find a Sabret in California, the best dogs ever and they don't even fucking sell them anywhere unless you're in NY.

Being not from Chicagoland, ketchup still isn't put on a hot dog. And neither are pickles, hot peppers or tomatoes.

A proper hot dog is

spicy brown mustard, relish, diced raw onion, sauerkraut
or
chili and diced raw onion
or
spicy brown mustard, NY-style red onion sauce, sauerkraut

loading your hotdog up with mustard relish sauerkraut drowns out the flavor too. it's no better than ketchup. i will take a moment however to express my distaste for the overwhelmingly sweet ketchup that's so prevalent nowadays. everywhere you go it's all the same heinz crap. all you can taste is the syrup. what happened to tangy ketchup where you can taste the tomato flavor?

The answer is NO.

I recently heard that ketchup on hot dogs is only acceptable if you're under 10 years old.
