I think once you get the "perform glory kills from a distance" rune, things get much easier. The mancubus dies with 2 perfectly sniped gauss shots, so does the revenant with 2 Super shotgun shots to the face. The only enemies that are total bullet sponges are the Pinky and it's Shadow variant. God they are annoying. Also, the cacodemon with it's projectiles that explode on you if you shoot them when they're close.

How do I disable intro movies in steam version?

It does run super smooth on my R290 and 2600K. Great stuff.

In Steam, under the General tab in the game properties, add the following to the launch options:

+com_skipIntroVideo 1

You can also use the code below to remove the "Press Key to Continue" feature:

Haven't even finished the first play through on ultra violence but I wanted to go back the first level and see if I have "learned" anything and try playing on NIGHTMARE. My first time playing the game, I could not even get past the first room on Nightmare but now, understanding the game better, it was a breeze. So of course I have kept going on NIGHTMARE to see how far I can get...

beat it yesterday, great game. ultra-violence was the skill and glad i didn't stick with the level below that(started off playing like that).

such a great game, they nailed it i can't say that enough. played a few snap maps too. hoping the map makers shine on this eventually, i would love horde levels to play, looking forward to that.

i tried jumping back on MP but sat in a lobby for almost 8 minutes before giving up. i might try it again but does anyone really expect MP to last?

I played one match of team deathmatch and I doubt I'll play MP ever again.

Really enjoying this game. Wish I could play it more often, just hard to play it in front of my young kids. Must kill more demons.... now.

I kind of feel baffled because after I beat it on UV, i felt disappointed because I wanted MORE. Its been awhile since I felt like this toward a FPS game especially in SP.

Can't wait for the sequel/prequel w/e.

I do want to keep it real, toward the end is where I miss more STORY as the game does get more redundant, the only real difference is just more demons as you go along - and if anyone can beat this game on NIGHTMARE, they must be a HARDCORE bad ass and have weapon usage down to a SCIENCE...

Man, I'm a wimp. I *just* finished it on the easiest difficulty and that was enough of a challenge for me. Steam says it took me 15 hours to finish.
Totally fun.

Just downloaded the DEMO, the fps are constantly fluctuate from 20 to 60+ making me very dizzy.

CPU : Core i7 3770K @ 4.4GHz
R9 390 @ 1050MHz
Catalyst 16.6.1
Win 10 64bit

Any thoughts ?

I'm enjoying the game a lot - beat the second mission last night, I'm taking it really slowly. But is it me, or is it almost impossible to find the secrets? I found one in the first mission and a collectible, but in the second mission I found nothing, and I really did scour areas. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong - are you mean to be able to find all of the secrets on your first playthrough?

Also during the second mission I was getting loads of 'weapons upgrades' - they'd blink after I blow up a room of monsters or whatever, but I have no idea how to use them. With the drones I seem to be able to pick right click upgrades for my weapons but I cannot seem to upgrade my weapons themselves. Any tips here?

Upgrade weapons by pushing Tab and going to the weps screen. You have to use your mouse at the top to select the weps menu.

You then spend the weapon upgrade points just like you spend the suit upgrade points when you find the dead elite solders with the red tokens you pull out of their suits scattered around the levels.

To find secrets, make sure to use your map. They outline areas you haven't been in when you walk by them and show the symbols of items you haven't received yet. Also once you find the auto map for the level, it helps a lot.

Thanks for the responses - I wondered what the 'auto mapping' thing did, and I find the map a bit difficult to navigate (it reminds me of Descent, for those old school players, where you have to rotate it a lot given the multiple layers).

I feel like such a noob but last night I did tap 'tab' to use the praetor tokens I found - I think I found 3 or 4 on the second level. But none of the tabs at the top let me upgrade weapons - I'll try again tonight, and hope it works out. At the end of the second mission I ran out of ammo almost against the [boss] and my aim isn't really bad, and I did not think this should be happening. I think I'm playing on 'hurt me plenty'.

Just went through the demo, looks good and runs smooth but seemed awfully repetitive even in the short time it took to get through the level. Im sure the full game is much better, but Ive seen enough to be okay waiting till its in the bargain bin.

What do you mean "repetitive"? Shooting stuff?

I agree, the game is repetitive.

This is how I describe it to my friends who don't own it:

10 Walk into new room
20 Destroy demons
30 GOTO 10

The whole "upgrade your weapons and suit" thing never did it for me - I never felt the impacts of those upgrades - perhaps because I played on "Don't hurt me."

Regardless, the above formula was hella fun and I will likely go back and repetitively go into new rooms and destroy demons.
