Just waiting for my Best Buy to open now. Hopefully the game doesn't take forever to download (although I should be working anyway )... we'll see what I can get with my GTX970 & 4k monitor.

The total install size is ~50GB, but you only get a single disc in the retail box that installs only 7GB of the data, leaving you to download 40GB.

Pretty decent performance bump. Getting between 80-110 typically now

God this is good news. I thought they were going to totally destroy performance on the 980ti to push us to get 1080's. Game is pre loaded and waiting for me when I get home. This is going to be great I can't wait to play this game. I wonder if SLI works, although it sound like I'll do well without it.
Hey BTW, is your 980ti overclocked?

Also, people complaining about locked door/hoard mode in game? That sound badass and oldschool to me in the best way. I look forward to getting stuck in a room with waves of enemies for a frantic, enduring fragfest.

Anyone with a 7970ghz or similar that is playing this? How's it running? Want to know before deciding if I should get it.

What kind of performance can I expect on a i5 2500k, Geforce GTX 770 4 GB, 8 GB of ram? 1920x1200 resolution.

I ran the game on a i5 2400 and a 680 2gb @ 1080 on medium and it was getting around 30-40 fps in heavy scenes.

It's an evga 980Ti FTW so it has a pretty decent factory OC. I'm not running any OC beyond that. It does have about another 100mhz in it if I crank the voltage.

Doom benchmarks from PCgameshardware.de

Anyone wondering if their hardware can handle the game should look at the benchmarks above, as it might help them decide.

Seems like Kepler does fairly well, although it's left way behind by the Maxwell variants likely due to the games heavy usage of compute shaders.

Game also runs much faster on Fiji than on Hawaii..

Why do always foreign countries have benchmarks for games first ?

Assuming if I don't see my card on there it probably won't do very well.

Even the vanilla 980 is doing quite well. In fact Maxwell appears to really shine here. 960 outperforming a 770 by a decent margin. Should not be so, but it is.

I get a constant 60FPS on Ultra settings with my GTX 980 4gb. Pretty much never moves.
Res: 2560x1440

Can't use the Nightmare setting as it requires a GPU with over 5GB of VRAM.

Seems like a decent 40+ fps. Might want to wait to upgrade then play this on PC or just go console.

Yes, my mistake.

Doom on console? That's blasphemous.

Does it not allow you to select it? At 1440p I get peak VRAM usage of around 4.5GB but it's typically at around 3.8-4.2GB

Yea I've only ever played the others on PC but I don't want to find out I won't be satisfied with the performance or looks.

Downloading now, who has a DVD / BR drive anymore on their PC?

EDIT:

Also the statue you get is quite nice... overpriced of course but I like it!

7970 is a decent amount more powerful then what's in a PS4 and even more so on an XB1. You should easily be able to select a visual fidelity that's equivalent to either one and get the same or better performance out of it.

What AA setting is everyone using? After playing around with them for a bit I think I prefer SMAA(1TX) over TSSAA (8TX). If you stand still and look very closely it does have ever so slightly more jaggies, but seems to maintain a significantly sharper image.

No unfortunately. Gives me a warning that it wants 5GB of VRAM otherwise the software will crash. Then it sets it back to it's original value.

Did anyone else get the CE? I think the battery door screw is stripped... no idea what screwdriver I'm supposed to be using.

Figure it's worth a try I suppose. Been a while since I've played on my PC. Horde mode doesn't sound very appetizing but the single player campaign sounds like it would be decent.

5GB Vram? That sucks for FuryX owners. I always knew 4gb was not enough for a new high end card. It is what it is though. I mean the game runs fine on it I'm sure, but those chasing that Ultra setting might be a little disappointed.

what about Fury X owners who also have 980ti's?

It is interesting how Fiji runs away from Hawaii in this one though whereas usually the Fury's arent much further ahead of the Hawaii parts.
