Consoles and PC Software are two different departments in Target. This is huge YMMV. However, by all means post if you pulled it off.

I don't feel like it's worth driving back and forth everyday checking if it's in stock -big YMMV, I feel like getting the pm and giftcard from cc or compusa is the best way. $37 with tax if you count the gc has cash....

This sort of substituion is YMMV, and it seems to depend on the experience level or attitude of the cashier you select at checkout. I was able to get DOOM 3 on a ps2 raincheck at Target last week. It was a 42% off raincheck from when Shrek 2 (ps2) was out of stock. The raincheck showed the sale price of Shrek @ ($28.88) as well as having some language about how I would get 42% off the price of any game I used as a substitute The cashier misunderstood, and simply charged me $28.88 for Doom 3. It should have be around $32 if she had done it correctly. At the last minute, she questioned whether I could substitute some other game for Shrek 2. I simply pointed out the language on the raincheck about substitutions and she offered no further flak.
