UT2k4 is the greatest game ever made. If I can get something like this and Farcry for $30 each, why would I pay $50 for other comparatively mediocre games?I can't decide if you are complimenting the game or not, IMO Ut2004 has done everything right, it runs perfect with all settings maxed on a 9800pro, but also runs on my laptop with shared memory acceptably with all settings on low, it has a good crowd, great graphics, assortment of games and a built in mp3 player(I wish other games would do this) Oh, and it loads acceptably fast for a multiplayer game. It can't be beat in terms of quality, even the demo is great.

Here is a way you can get Doom 3 for $9.99. Go to your bank today and put $9.99 into a savings account. When they actually ship the game, you will probably have ~$60 in you account.

I play Ut2004 since the day I came out. It sucks compared to Quake 3. Complicated and stupid weapon systems. All people do on the servers is free-for-all fragging. Ut2004 demos are so boring to watch. They basically use shock rifle most of the time and avoid close-distance combat. Quake 3 is by far THE best 1v1 duel and TDM game ever. Watching Q3 demos is almost addictive. I am playing UT2004 just to fill the void before doom3.
This is why I never buy used PC games. The used PC games business, is what's hurting sales. People buy the games, copy them, and sell them back. EB Games and Gamestop never bought back PC games in the past. They need to change their policies and stop buying back used games. I also remember paying about $59-69 for the old Ultima VII, Ultima Underworld DOS games. So the price of games, certainly has not gone up over the years. I consider $30 a bargain for today's games.Originally posted by: salsa086
wpngscrs... you're an idiot then... you might as well download the game if you are gonna do that.. plus what happens when the game is primarily multiplayer? You just screw the person you sold it to and hope they don't get a "your CD key is in use?"

P.S. Doom I & II ruled back in the DOS days.

Electronic Arts (EA), is what ruined Origin. It started with Ultima 8, Ultima Ascension, etc... Richard Garriott, the founder of Origin, left his company because of the crap that EA was pulling. EA had too much control and was rushing out games, before they were released. EA continues to ruin independent development houses today.
