I didn't think about the CD-key, I don't play online. Anyway, how is that illegal? I'm not selling the copy. It wouldn't be any different if I bought it, played through it, then sold it. I paid for the game to begin with so what is the problem?

The fact that you ask that very question is proof that you couldn't possibly understand the answer.Originally posted by: wpngscrs

id isn't high. They don't sell the game, Activivion or Atari does, and the distributor sets the price. Besides, its Doom3. They would get 80 bucks if they asked for it.

Oh, OK. I understand now. I just thought it was more of a grey area.

You guys will pay $39/$49 every year for UT200X but not $60 for Doom3? Activision always prices their games higher, but IMO Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, RTCW, etc are worth it. I normally wait for most games to drop in price to around $29, but Doom3, Duke Nuken Forever and HL2 will probably worth the price. Not $80 like someone else said, but these games only come around once and great while. I guess if you didn't play these games when they came first came out you may not be impressed.

I paid $30 for UT2k4 (special edition I might ad), which was a new game to me (I didn't buy 2k3).
After playing this, there is no way I am paying over $30 for a game again.

When the game is released it will be $59.99 at the stores. I am sure someone will run sales but the base price will be the 60 bones. I asked someone when I seen that at best buy and it is just a preorder, and yes itdid seem to good to be true. I can't speak for others but as a college student I cannot afford $60 for a game. I will probably buy it once it comes down but not now. They would sell many many more copies if they started the price at 39.99 like UT2k4, far cry, and BF Vietnam did.

Although I bought MS Flight Simulator 2004 at Fry's last week for $20, BB has it on the shelf for $54.99 but with a $20 off sticker. Were people ever actually paying $55 for this?

I bought UT2004 for $30 when it first came out. The special edition to be precise. The game is worth $50 in my opinion. Runs great as well.

loser
UT2k4 is the greatest game ever made. If I can get something like this and Farcry for $30 each, why would I pay $50 for other comparatively mediocre games?I can't decide if you are complimenting the game or not, IMO Ut2004 has done everything right, it runs perfect with all settings maxed on a 9800pro, but also runs on my laptop with shared memory acceptably with all settings on low, it has a good crowd, great graphics, assortment of games and a built in mp3 player(I wish other games would do this) Oh, and it loads acceptably fast for a multiplayer game. It can't be beat in terms of quality, even the demo is great.
