There's a thread in Video, but it's getting no love. The review uses varying CPUs and GPUs.

It started with Doom 3.....and now the HL2 results confirm Nvidias lead. The benchmarks are out. The 6800 Ultra smokes the X800XT in HL2 also! Sorry you ATI people maybe next generation.....results are in and there is only one conclusion to be made. The 6800 cards are clearly better due to Nvidias new architecture. All ATI did was take the radeon 9800 and add pipelines...sorry ATI thats not going to cut it.

Honestly, if you want to compare Doom 3 to Half-Life 2 then don't even bother...you are wasting your time. Why? Well if you have seen you can do in that game, or rather if you haven't then understand there is no contest. I mean kudos to Carmack, he took all the programming on his back for Doom 3 and had some pretty good ideas, but it's still going to fall short of all the freedom you are given in HL2.
