Excellent. Now begins the search for somewhere with a 6800GT Ultra or X800 PE in stock... This is really good news. Now shouts loudly.... Valve.... now do you see how easy it is to release a game...
Looking forward to HL2 too.

not that hard.
HomeLAN has gotten a response from id Software's Todd Hollenshead on the current status of the Doom 3 movie rights, contradicting published reports that Universal now has the rights to make the FPS based film:
The movie rights have reverted to id, as Warner's option period expired. However, we remain a "free agent" at this time and multiple studios are interested in the project. The team of John Wells (ER, et. al.) and Lorenzo DiBonaventura (The Matrix, et. al.) that has been working on the project for over a year will remain affiliated with the DOOM movie. The studio question at this point primarily involves the financing..

lol. I remember last year everybody was fighting over which video card it would run under better. No one wanted an FX because its shader performance. And everybody needed a 9700p or 9800p (Fx5900 equiv). Now everybody must at least have a x800 or 6800.

don't do it wait til the fall when most of the high-end games are out and you can actually find the next gen cards on the self.
I saw a X800 PRO for 459.00 (3 on shelf)
Nvidia 6000 NU for 339.00
No way I'm paying those prices, I'll wait.
