Yes, FPS's are better on the PC. However, there are a number of other genres that are superior on the console.

I don't understand why it always has to be "pc VS console" for you guys.

the coop play is what sets it apart. fun factor>>>>graphics anyday. now why they didn't do coop for the pc is plain stoopid.

Will they maybe add coop for PC later? I'm pretty bummed about this. Guess I'll stick with Joint Operations for coop for now.

PC version will be better because you can get free mods/maps from the gaming community plus i'm sure the game will look better on your pc rather than the xbox. Getting the xbox only will be better if you plan on playing the game with your friends because its much easier to play multiplayer on xbox than having a pc lan party.

While I'll be getting it for PC, I think the Xbox version will still turn out quite nice.

What will happen if the Xbox version will have a nice 1080i or 720p mode? Depending on your TV, it could look very nice. Granted there is no way to get it to look as good as it would on a 6800Ultra, but still, it could be cheaper than building a ho-hum pc for.

I'm sure if MS pays him well enough, Carmack will work a little of his magic for the Xbox version. Besides, Carmack even said that the Doom 3 engine was designed with the Xbox in mind, so it should do very well on it.

I don't know why so many people put consoles down so much. Just ignore threads about consoles if you can't do anything more than bash them.

My suggestion: If you can wait for the Xbox version do, it'll save you money and will look very nice. If not, build a pc and game away. Also, keep in mind which YOU prefer, controller or mouse and keyboard.

There's no way that D3 will be in 720 or 1080. The Xbox couldn't handle it smoothly.

Even still, it's going to look great. As someone mentioned before, just take a look at Riddick as an example of how well the Xbox can do lighting.

I love when you see a commercial for XBox games and the video they show is laggy...notably the Rainbox Six 3 commercial showed some guy strafing at like 10 fps. I'm no videophile that only uses 16x12 all the time, but the XBox simply doesn't have the power to be the PC it thinks it is. Consoles do certain things great, noticably games for multiple people with joysticks...i.e. fighting and sports games are wonderful for consoles. However no FPS ever released on a console was anything but sub-par to me (GoldenEye was annoying to me at best). If you want a console, get it for the games that matter (like Smash Bros for GameCube or Gran Turismo 3-4 for PS2), not for games that have no business being on a joystick based system.

I don't know why you'd want to play a first person shooter on the Xbox anyway... aiming with a joystick is "teh suxxors"

yeah, it sucks when they have to add in an aim assist, nothing beats a mouse but FPS games can still be fun on consoles, just not as great.

dguy6789... D3 on Xbox won't support split screen. Just Xbox Live (and System Link, I believe).

killedradiostar... Like dguy6789, I'm planning on playing both the PC version and Xbox. I'm really looking forward to co-op play, which is something the PC doesn't offer.

ZobarStyl... Games always look choppy on TV. In reality, RS3 plays incredibly smooth.

Jeff7181... You are right that a kb/mouse is far superior to using a gamepad for FPS's. But just because a Carrera GT is far superior to a Viper, doesn't make the Viper any less fun to drive.

DarkAmeba... I agree. The PC just can't touch a real home theatre setup, especially if you have bigscreen TV. Sitting hunched over your desk just isn't quite as immersive.

Where did you get the info that it wont support split screen?

And it is all about programming, xbox has the power to look good.

Splinter cell pandora tommorrow on xbox looks better then farcr yon pc at max settings in some places, and halo 2 looks better then farcry all together.

It is all about the programming. Doom3 on xbox was made specifically for xbox side by side with the pc version. It is not a port. Halo was made specifically for xbox, so was the splinter cell series. They all looked awesome and ran awesome.

Yea keyboard and mouse are superior, but aiming isnt that bad with the controller. Ive seen some pretty awesome controller players on unreal championship(this was a lousy port, bad fps, full of glitches)

I could've sworn that I read that... But alas, I can't seem to find any info one way or the other right now.
