this is the size on disk: 1.50 GB (1,615,990,784 bytes)

it may require more while installing if it uses a temp folder, but the final size is 1.5 GB

It's hard to belive that being a really good game with really high graphics quality it still takes 1.5 GB, though I forgot to ask weather it is full install or not

ID has done a great job, first they make it compatible with a lotof hardware configuration, then a lot less space hogger compared to UT 2004 which was 4 GB + or Far Cry.

Hey, those of U who already have it, can someone post the doom 3 icon here,or an image of the icon. It is interesting for an icon developer like me to see how it looks like, if it isn't illigal, the icon will come out on Wicustomize anyway in the future

3 cds and the install requires 1.5 gb. i don't recall an option for removing multiplayer.

on another note, the darned installation took ~1 hour. it was insane.

I'd look into your drive/IDE controller speed, it took me no where near an hour. Maybe 15 minutes?

Anyone know how it should run on my system yet. |H| didn't mention anything on my system yet. 512mb of DDR33 @ 3200 2500+ barton @ 2.2 and 5900XT. Should i be able to squeak out high quality 1024x768, noAA and 8xAF. Or am i just having some wishful thinking.

Looks like it angered them:

Due to driver problems and hardware heat problems, this card was dropped from testing as it became too time consuming to cater to its situation. The results above were taken using the v61.71 driver. We did contact NVIDIA and let them know that there were issues with the v61.76 driver we used for testing here.

Anyway, the only difference between their recommendation for it and the 5900U was medium or high quality 10X7.

there isn't any action going on, but encounters (1-2 every once in a while) don't seem to have much impact on framerate. I've put in about 1.5 hrs into the game, and these settings are silky smooth. Had some issues with high quality so I dropped settings down.
all I can say is that at medium quality, the graphics are superior to any other game before. i can't notice much of a quality difference between these settings and high quality/16x quality AF, probably because the game is so dark.

I started to play it on my 24" wega because it is easier to see through the darkness. not because it is bigger, but because the tv washes out some of the darkness. looks better on a tv than any other game I've played. the xbox version is going to rock. but not as much
