As of right now my deperately in need of an upgrade system is a...

Abit KT7 w/AMD Thunderbird 1400 mhz running at 12.5 x 103 = 1287 mhz
512 mb pc133 corsair select ram
40 gig 7200 rpm maxtor hd
Abit Geforce4 Ti4200 128 mb ram vid card

640x480 at medium settings with everything turned off.

2148 frames rendered in 95.1 seconds = a whopping 22.6 fps.

i know i know not very playable but i just wanted to share because people were concerned with how a low system performs in this game.

But wow i didn't know a game could look that good at 640x480.

Cool.

I have an Athlon 2500+ @ 2GHz, 768 MB PC3200, 64 MB Geforce4 MX, interested to see how [crappy] it runs.

just wondering...since the lower end video shouldn't be able to run the advance shaders and stuff....wouldn't they then still be able to run the game at a decent speed because they don't take as much of a performance hit as the newer cards? like an mx440 running decently with far cry?

my crappy 2 year old dell p4 1.6ghz with 512 MB pc133 ram and radeon 9800 pro 128mb card (which I thought would compensate for my old CPU):
640 x 480 low: 19fps; 1280 x 1024 med: 18.1 fps.
I was surprised that I only lost 0.9 fps going from 640 x 480 to 1280 x 1024. Still very choppy during fight scenes.

I want to get it a little more playable. Defragged the drive, installed beta ATI drivers for doom, not sure what else to do short of upgrading the cpu/mobo...

This game seems to be equally CPU and VidCard dependent. I think a faster CPU would help you greatly.

Ouch, a Williamette P4 with SDRAM... definitely time to upgrade cpu, mobo and memory.
