I was a big fan of doom back in the early 90's, but was never aware that they made a comic book based on the game. After reading through it I'm glad I never picked it up.

They made a series of four novels based on the game too. First two were fun and action packed, if with a bit too much focus on Mormons. The next two were all about the Mormon religion, and humans being the only beings that actually die etc. etc. It got seriously weird.

Those were seriously messed up books. I don't think I finished them after the marine met up with the alien that the author said had a resemblance to Huckleberry Hound with a duck's beak and I don't even remember what else. I think at that point he was probably sick of writing the books and realized that no one was actually reading them so wanted to see how ridiculous he could get without people noticing.

Also, the movie wasn't that bad, it was ok for what it was.
