Normally I would cry "REPOST", but you're a newb so I'll forgive you.
Alien Vs. Predator 2 was a lot scarier.
F.E.A.R didnt entirely live up to its namesake but it was still a lot better than Doom3.
Heck, I got more chills in parts of Max Payne and Duke3D than anywhere in D3.
And those are just shooters. I got the heebie-jeebies in plenty of graphic adventure games before. (Hell and Bad Mojo and Still Life and 7th guest and 11th hour.)
Nope, they tried too hard and missed the target completely. So many things went wrong with that game, the scary part couldnt survive.

I jumped more in FEAR and HL2 than I did in Doom.

Man... I'm seeing lotsa posts about the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series... but really, none of you guys will know scary until you play Fatal Frame 2... I'm not talking about being shocked or spooked, this game is nothing like that... All I can say is, if you have never played this game, and are looking for an erie experience unlike any other... play it... It turned a friend of mine, who captained hockey teams to provincial championships here in Canada, into an insomniac only just recovering. Mind you, we were baked out of our minds when we played it, but still, those of us who weren't said they'd never load that thing by themselves...
