Which door are you speaking of?

I thought the idea of getting one of these speaker system is to make things vibrate.

Turn down your base, either on the sub or by the computer.

Or, you could just get a better door.........

Sorry to threadcrap, but this is just funny

You bought great bass-thumping speaking, not cheap crappy ones...so yeah, vibrations are somewhat inevitable.

Resonant frequencies dood get used to them. Solution that should work albeit somewhat tedious....Buy a SOLID wood door instead of hollow. This will get rid of the resonant cavity thereby getting rid of most of the rumble

this won't work if its hitting the natural frequency of the door.

Do you have the door closed when it is vibrating? If so, you can get something to dampen the vibrations, if I'm not mistaken. Something like rubber or foam ran along the seams of the door, and it might not vibrate to the point that you can notice it. Just a thought.

exactly, also, a rubber mat(or some old mousepads) might dampen floor vibration. A good door might help as well.(solid)

There really isn't any substitute for a good solid door for this. I have a set of z5500s and even their sub never vibrated my room door at school in my tiny dorm room. However, I did manage to piss off pretty much everone on the floor below me. Neighbor had a set of Klipsch Ultras... those poor girls living below us

I shuved a rolled up hockey sock in my z-5300 sub so it can't be heard thoughout the house. I have heard that is really bad for it, but they only cost 130 anyway, and it is unbearable without the sock.

isn't the reasoning that by damping the door, you're changing it's resonant/natural frequency?

also depends whats vibrating. could be the door hinges, the door-doorway contact, or the bottom of the door to the floor. just stuff something between the surfaces
