This has me laughing:

http://arstechnica.com/security/201...vice-attack-aimed-directly-at-healthcare-gov/

Basically it seems like there are people out there that will not stop at anything to try and bring down Obamacare, even going to far as to sabotaging the website via DDoS.

If you want to protest the ACA, don't sign up for Obamacare. Don't try to sabotage it for the people that actually want to use it. That's just plain stupid.

It takes a truly deranged and shitty person to protest a law they don't like by preventing others from accessing health care. What the hell is wrong with people.

Bring down a site that doesn't work? Overload a page you can't get into to begin with?

Sad thing is this isn't the least bit surprising from the same folks that engineered the government shutdown. To them if it doesn't fit your ideolocy, blow it up is an exceptable tactic

It may be stupid, but we've seen hackers attack everything in the name of something. The problem is that what is stated isn't always as it seems. Could it be? Possibly, not saying otherwise.

Maybe they should hire the people who wrote the DOS software to work on Halthcare.gov since that program seems to actually work.

Seems I remember these tactics being from the playbook of liberal radicals - purposefully overload the system to force change.

These evil, evil people doing the same thing liberals do.

Health insurance and health care are different things. This tool wasn't even needed due to how horrible obamacare has been. obamacare shouldn't have been passed. It needs to be repealed and replaced with a free market system.

NO NO NO

THere needs to be some bloody good thinking done then do it.

Obamacare is a political organism for the sake of politics first. "The Free Market" is a means to a financial end.

Both suck for health care reform.

I didn't see that there was any adverse effect from the attempt or did I miss that?

Right because the free market system we had before worked so well ... oh no wait, it didn't, hence why healthcare reform was needed.

There hasn't been a free market system to speak of in many decades, and Obamacare isn't healthcare reform. At least get the basics right.

The only part of our health system I would consider "free market" is cosmetic\elective procedures. The rest of it is heavily regulated, 3rd party payer driven, or directly paid\controlled by govt.

But it gives his left more substance when they make the crashing of a website sound like people can't get through to 911 to call for an ambulance. In retrospect they should be furious with the Obama administration for keeping so many people from "accessing healthcare" by implementing such a shitty website.

Honestly. Everyone knows that the proper way to protest a law is by getting elected to Congress, refusing to do your job and getting the government shut down for several weeks. DDoS attacks are so rookie.

STFU you moron. There wasn't a free market before obamacare. A free market system would be better and would reduce the costs but no you idiot liberals want socialized medicine. You just can't handle that your precious obama is being called out.

Interesting how fuzzy thinking and bogus factual presumptions preclude any concept of rational analysis or thought on the conservative side.

Now we just need Michelle Obama going on the news to say it's all a vast right wing conspiracy.

It probably won't take several years, millions of dollars, with better security features, being tested from top to bottom, and able to handle more than a few thousands logins at the same time.
