Really happy Bristleback was released. I'm really hoping Abaddon comes next. He brings a really good variety of quasi-support, tank, tanky-damage fun to pub matches.

I get the feeling techies will be last...

Goblin Techies is the one with the mines right? I think so. He is the best in pub games because pubs are, well pubs, and run into mines and die.

Very nooby question but how many heroes are there in dota 1 (ie how many left to be added)!

Well I've never played those, maybe they'll turn out to be like Tusk and become one of my personal favs overnight.

If someone makes one, I wouldn't be opposed to joining. I am pretty good at HoN and when I attempt Dota 2 I destroy. It could be because I haven't normalized out of all the awful players yet; it could also be because even if I am dominating I can't win with 4 hard carries on my team all feeding.

I would love to play with people who aren't from Brazil (moba diss!) and can actually do something other than give the other team gold and experience.

Someone should do this... I don't have the time to really manage much but would like to play with a group on occasion. I've got friends that normally make a team of 3.. We're all in the 400-600 win area, don't know how it'll jive with others.

I would so jump at the chance to join an Anandtech Team - I don't know anyone else that plays Dota2 so I'm stuck on pub servers.

Indeed I find that the US is a melting pot - mainly made of Russian and Brazilians who don't speak English apparently. All snarky comments aside, it's too much a shot in the dark and I end up playing w/ people who don't even speak the language for it to be much fun.

So yes, I'd love to join an Anandtech team

Same. You guys all seem much more experienced than me though, I've only got around 100 wins.

I don't even have 20 wins, but I'd rate myself in the top 20% of Dota 2 players easily. I have a ton of HoN and Dota experience. Being 1800 in HoN is like top 5% of players. I am bit rusty on items and hero names, so my builds might not be up to competitive standards, but I think I manage well.

The recent DOTA 2 updates these past few months now allow us to create private lobbies (non-pub games)... we can all practice against bots or scrim 4 vs 4 if we get enough of us here on at the same time...

I wouldn't really be interested in bots or in house 4v4, but if we got 10 I would do that or queue with others at high or better tier.

In the Watch --> Recent Games tab, you can filter games. Put your name in, then you can filter by Any, Normal, High, or Very High level games.

Don't take too much from it. I want to say I read somewhere that 80+% of all games are in the Normal bracket.

Yeah, all my games are in Normal.

But a few of my friends have games in all 3 within about 2-3 days.

Yeah.. I queue normal on my own and it was.. easy. I queue high with my friends and it's way better players (also more fun).

Keep in mind, there is a hidden ladder score (MMR) and you are constantly matched according to your rating in a linear scale. It's not just Normal vs High vs Very High- that's just their way of sorting them.

I don't see normal being that low of the percentage of players. Unless high is considered slightly above average.

Looks like I shift between high and very high in solo queue.

All kinds of games with a team! (very variable skilled friends...)

Yeah I read that on dotametrics as well - I am 100% sure he is pretty much correct as he uses this in a number of his other statistics (like hero win rate in different skill tiers) so he must be able to sample say 1000 games at random and realise that roughly 15 % are high skill level etc.

They should divide up Normal into Normal and Low. Because today I played with an idiot against 4 idiots and a decent Brew carry, and it took us an hour to win.
