Dota2 invites went out today. Anyone get one?

Haha, I suck compared to WC3 (not TFT) DOTA, but on the plus side, my first match no one raged at me...ended up 8/8/4 as randomed Sven. Not having the rage in the first match is definitely a plus, as I honestly think the DOTA community is one of, if not *the*, worst communities out there.

Undoubtedly. I was in a custom match that's title included "newbs" and me and one other guy stated we were playing our first matches. And still this other guy on our team was a frothing at the mouth asshole the entire match.

Decided I'd give this game another go when I heard they fixed things up.

First game I lost with Pugna, my team was very clueless (including myself, I bought Eul's for some reason) and opponents knew what they were doing. Next game I managed to win as a 4v5 going 18-2 Mirana, this is the DotA I remember.

All in all, I'm going to keep playing, but I can't shake the feeling that the graphics are just so poor. And I'm not talking "oh why don't they push my watercooled system greater." The artstyle just irritates me. Everything looks way too big, especially the minions. It looks less refined than even WC3, and much worse than HoN and LoL.

On the plus side, the menu is 1000000000x better. Very good work there.

Just went 52/1/2 in a match as Night Stalker...and all but one on my team left in the first five minutes.

The other team kept pushing and I had to split time by pushing lanes and defending. I also made it a lot harder on myself by not getting the tele boots.

Any Dota 2 players wanna do some team games? I got into the beta and have played maybe 30 games or so and I'm kicking the rust off but some of these people are just god awful.. wasting 30-40 mins on a game that's over in the first 5 minutes is driving me insane. Looking for some competent people with which to play.

Got an invite to the beta the other day, and played my first match without knowing anything about how the game was played. Holy crap I got owned. 13 deaths, 0 kills. I think my team hated me.

Not sure I have the time or energy to get into it. The interface seemed clunky, and without a tutorial I simply don't have the time to "figure out" how to play.

Wish I could transfer my Beta invite to someone else, but my understanding is that it is tied to my steam account.

Fairly steep learning curve, especially when there are people who have been experts for years.

I agree..Something is just fundamentally wrong with the graphics...I would have thought that valve would hire artists who would make less generic and shitty looking characters and it all looks sort of plasticy.
