My PR (set in December of 2013): http://youtu.be/4XGfsyZTNMg 405 @ 165, 2.45x bodyweight. I've done more per pound at lower bodyweight (somewhere around 380 @ 148 I believe), but that's my highest total.

Past member. Squat 1RM was 495 at 225 with just a belt. I wouldn't be getting out from under that now though. :-( I don't lift for power anymore, or really work out much at all. Haven't been able to make time for it and it really bums me out. Need to try to reprioritize and find the time.

Dead was 525 at the time (traditional, never a sumo guy), and bench was 345 I think? Never benched all that well. Always had a fairly lanky build.

Oh great a challenge. I weigh about 165, I popped up to 300 a couple weeks ago to see how it went at the end of my sets, managed to get 3 up so I imagine I could get 330 if I wanted to. I get nervous when I do heavier weights though. I have a defect in my left heel / ankle wherein a bone fuses the two together. This causes my left knee to point inward if I have my feet straight for instance. I'm worried it is just gonna explode one day.

My squat is just starting to get somewhere (5x255# today) but I'm a heavy dude at 225, so I'll either have to lose weight or get strong enough to toss all you lightweight mutherfuckers through walls to ever sniff this list

I'm a good deadlifter so a 450 lb. deadlift might happen some day, sitting at about 5x365 right now, but I've done 405 for 5.

There is always time. I work 50-60 hrs a week, am a 3/4 time student, and always find my gym time.

What happens if you point your toes out at about 30 degrees?

Oh, and 285 for a couple today. Making good progress. Still 115lbs from making this club, though.

Of course life is about compromise. I work 80-100 hours a week at work, plus additional work outside. I spend what little free time I have with my girlfriend, dog, and family (in addition to the minutia of daily life obviously). Perhaps I should have phrased it that I currently have things higher on my priority list that are not negotiable.

Fortunately, I think I've gotten my girlfriend to the point where she may be willing to go to the gym with me which might provide a solution to at least getting some gym time and spending time with her.

That would be awesome if you could convince her. I taught my ex to squat, dead lift, and bench and she loved it. I understand what you mean about priorities though.

This. I got my GF to lift by agreeing to pay her membership (which is only $24 a month, thankfully). She now lifts nearly every day.

That's pretty awesome for your weight.

Saw a guy on our team squat 495 for a triple @ 181. He's probably going to win Nationals this year or next. That gets us all motivated.

Is there any sort of FS to BS calculator or estimation? Got #275 last night FS and I'm at about #165. I know I'm not near 2x year for BS even if it converts well but was just wondering.

Jeez, that is pretty impressive to me. I only use the front squat for warming up or on light squat days for the 5x5 program. My maximum is around 225lb for a single rep. :'(

275 is a pretty solid front squat for your bodyweight. It's really hard to gauge, because they use the muscles differently (front squats are more quads and core heavy, back squats more hamstrings and glutes), and depending on how you're built, you might just be better at one than the other. That said, your front squats are in the same range as mine, and my back squat is closer to 400, so I have to imagine you'd be near if not over 2x.

Indeed.

gothamhunter, do you BS at all? How long have you been FS and BS?

If you are a very good FS you can get up to about 90% of your BS. But it's safe to say you would FS at least 75-80-85% of your BS.

Eh, 275*1.15 (or 85%)=316.5 (doesn't make it to 330). That's why it's better if they actually do the backsquat since it's more definitive.

But yeah, overall a 275 front squat is good. I think that's all I go up to for sets of 3, but don't do them that often. Backsquat is now 435@197, I'm ready for this weekend's meet. Just hoping to beat a few young whippersnappers like Deeko, probably won't place at this weight class though.

I don't get called a whippersnapper very often these days... but that aside, best of luck!
