Hello everyone. I was thinking of getting a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G. But I can't believe my eyes after checking the specs of it. Here is a glimpse of it :

1.7 GHz MTK MT6592 Octa Core Processor
Expandable Storage Capacity of 32 GB
Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS
13 MP Primary Camera
5.5-inch Touchscreen
5 MP Secondary Camera
Dual Sim (GSM + WCDMA)
Wi-Fi Enabled
FM Radio

Click for detailed specs
All I'm concerned is about Internet surfing, messaging and some puzzle games. I won't run any hardcore games on it. Right now I don't have the fund for a NOTE 3.
Can anybody clear my doubt on whether this will be a wise decision or not??

I wouldn't. You may not get full cellular network support, depending on where you live, and you're definitely not getting LTE data no matter what. You probably won't get official Google apps and services, either. You can technically sideload some of those, I suspect, but why jump through hoops?

If you want a big screen without spending too much, what about an HTC Desire 816 or 820? They might do the trick.

Yeah no 4G. And I have heard about performance issues about HTC. So its quite out of my list right now. I didn't get the Google apps thing, could you please elaborate it??

Your are worried about performance issues but getting a phone with an MTK CPU... They are usually crap and slow. Also not sure how that phone would be with updates.

I don't know where you live but that phone only has 2 3g bands and neither of them work in the us.

Oh didnt know that. Well there is a 4G version that will be released in the upcoming weeks.
Specs
It has a Snapdragon 400 quad core running at 1.6 Ghz. Is it good enough for this phablet??

EDIT: Asus Zenphone 5 also looks nice at this budget. But is my money safe with Intel Atom which has 2 physical cores only??

In general, I've had bad luck with batteries on off-brand products, and this one doesn't look to have a replaceable battery. I would stay away. You can pick up an LG Optimus Pro G, with 5.5" screen for around $200 used. This is the phone I'm currently using, and it has replaceable battery and SD card slot, and comes with 32GB internal. It's has a really nice IPS 1080p screen.

LG shows out of stock. And I would rather not buy a used gadget. Is Intel Atom processor of Asus Zenphone good enough??

I think this may change from region to region, but Xiaomi typically doesn't preload Google services and apps (both because Google doesn't offer them in China and because it prefers to run its own).
