*shrug* My investments have been very happy this last 3 years
If you're referring to the last 3 years since Trump inauguration, DJI was at about 19,800 the day of inauguration, we only have to fall 20% down before all your gains for the last 3 years are gone.

Sure or where you reread my original post until you realize what the point of it was.

You mean the part of will Trump take credit for the downturn? My answer indirectly answered that. He knows this downturn isnt his fault (which it isnt). But how about answering my question? Has any POTUS taken the blame for a downturn?

So its definitely Obama's economy still to blame for leaving you coasting high up for 3 years!

Well, no. Obama handed Trump a growing economy, and instead of crashing it, he kept it growing. Its that simple. Trump has had plenty of time to throw us into another recession. But he hasnt.

*shrug* OK. I dont really care. Im at least 15-20 years away from withdrawing. In the meantime, I dollar cost average. So downturns are a good thing for those that use that principle.

He has now. And the govt has already shot their wad with deficits, low rates & tax cuts.

Of course you don't care because it's all about you.

Plus you are being generous. More likely if he had impact it would take about a year. That changes the picture just a tad.

They’ll just sign away more and more of their future earnings and labor such that they’ll never get out of it. Just like they’ve sold them selves into bondage for the higher education cost to the tune of five or six figures. If this financial downturn keeps up will basically be able to reimplement slavery for the 21st-century and the poors can reconsider where they went wrong as they’re picking cotton.

Who is this "They" besides the straw men you create in your head to make you feel self-important?

But on that note, should they have not obtained higher education? Do you believe America would be better off without an educated workforce? Do you believe that we should punish people for trying to better themselves? Is this how we're making America great again, by exploiting our fellow citizens and setting them up to fail? How successful do you believe America will be in the global economy when we cannibalize each other while other countries invest in themselves and their citizens?

So apparently a million covid 19 tests have been distributed to all 50 states, so every state and local health official who still says they can’t test people showing symptoms is lying. Good to know.

No that wasn't my point. Let me reword it for you.

Trump takes credit for positive things and never takes blame for negative things.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Oh I got that. So Ill ask again. What POTUS has taken responsibility for negative things? Hasnt EVERY POTUS taken credit for good things? Ever watch a SOTU address from any other President?

I believe that you would be saying that the economy had a crashed if the current occupant in the White House had a D next to their name.

But....the economy HASNT crashed. Stock market != the economy. At least in my mind, I look at market corrections as better for my bottom line using dollar cost averaging.

Now, if unemployment and/or inflation had risen to double digits, that would be a different discussion.

Nothing ever clears anything up for that particular poster.

I'm thinking about loading up on some stocks over the next few weeks, but I have a hunch things will get worse.

Do you save or invest for people other than yourself and your family? Of course you dont. In this regard, youre exactly right. It IS only about me.

I referenced the usual conservative disregard for anybody not them.
