Au contraire. Not the featherbed I have.

Where did you get yours? It's about time we need a few. Last good ones we had were bought about 8-10 years ago, costed $200-$300. Since 2000, many friends complaint about their cheap ones; and we gathered, cheapest decent ones are about $120.

You don't have to dry clean it. What grandmother did,
1. Put it in a large plastic bag, freeze it for 24 hrs to kill critters.
2. In a bright sunshine day, slight spray 50/50 (alchol/water) soultion, let dry, spry..., it usually took about two hours.
3. If you have a steamer, steam it with 50/50 soultion. (Not Chinese food steamer, a steam-cleaner. )
4. Beat the hell out of them (fluff them up).
5. If you are lazy, go to laundray mate, use largest dryer, set it on low heat, put one pairs of sneaker in (to beat them), 40 mins should do.

Thanks OP. I ordered a Queen size late Wednesday and already received it today via UPS with Standard Free Shipping. Bed Bath and Beyond used to sell Pacific Coast's down comforters. I believe I paid around $200 for a 600 fill with 360 thread count. This is a great deal.

Yea, it's way nicer than I even expected. Good stuff. Will stay warm for the holidays.

A word of advice from a senior.

This used to be a rarely used scam.
But it is becoming quite common these days.
They just leave out one important word from the Ad.

Yes it IS a down comforter, but what it is NOT is
'GOOSE' down.

There are TEN worlds of difference between common duck down
and GOOSE down.

NO duck down comforter is worth the price, IMHO
Duck down is really only useful in a feather bed, at best,
or to keep a duck warm!

Duck down has nowhere NEAR the loft of Goose down and
is MUCH heavier per volume and, I think the technical word is "pokier"
Those spikey duck feathers poke right through the cover.

This is a common sucker ploy.
Don't fall for it - make sure that what you buy says "Goose Down"
and not just "Down"

... A word to the wise

I purchased a down type comforter from Ikea, called Mysa Dimma (Full/Queen Sized) about a year ago for 49.99 and it's an AWESOME comforter. Apparently the price has also dropped, to 34.99 for the full/queen size if anyone's interested in dropping by an Ikea to purchase one.

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...3&storeId=12&langId=-1&productId=44609

I'd go with this if you just want to pick it up tomorrow or something as a gift

Can anyone who has recieved this (the Amazon one, not the Overstock one) comment on the down? I'm tempted to pull the trigger, but want to know if I'll be poked all night with or without a duvet.

I was checking this ad out on the 22nd, decided not to get it. My father today was runnin around the house asking who ordered the down comforter. Apparantly I clicked buy it now to see what the shipping would be... I unintentionally bought it with amazons "one click shopping" using the old mans credit card. Thanks OP... and dad

I'll let you know what the quality is like when I get it.

Yea, no pokey for me yet either. I'm glad I was able to get the twin size before it ran out.

A down comforter doesn't poke, a feather-bed or a feather-comforter does. When it says 75%-80% down, it is a down comforter; the other way around for feather-thing. Nothing to worry when buy a down comforter.

Just gotta know how you know what that smells like.

I expect mine to smell like duck ass anyway. And if I'm lucky, goose butt.

I got the $30 Overstock one. 95% feather, 5% down is what it was labelled. However, it seems that the cloth material is thick enough that none of the feathers are poking out so I guess I'm happy though 5% down seems like kind of a major rip off. But it gets the job done so not worth returning and complaining.

Mine isn't dirty yet or anything, but my GF was wondering how you're supposed to clean down comforters? I told her at this price we could just get another one, but she just laughed at me...

the price went back up $10, but i already got mine... i love it... its got just the right amount of weight to form around you, and its warm without getting you sweaty.
it doesnt smell funky, just get a duvet cover to wash.
btw, i didnt see anything on this that said it was anything but down.
no odd % feather vs. down ...
