GRRRRR!! Fvcking morons! I go there for dinner tonight, and order a beer as soon as the waitress comes to serve us. I hand her my ID, which I had ready, and she says she has to check it with the manager because it's out of state. Fine. 10 minutes later the manager comes out saying he called the cops to verify it's autenthicity. That's BS, any idiot could hold a NY lisence under a black light and see the HUGE FVCKING seal of NY glowing back at them. Another 10 minutes go by, and the server comes back with my ID saying they can serve me, not with the beer I ordered, just saying that they could serve me. I say the beer had better be free, they can't comp it, so the food had. Mind you I was right in saying that, because it took 20-25 minutes longer than it should have to verify that my I was really 21. The manager came back out, said no, and I left. I am never eating there again!!
Don't go there if you are from out of state!! And even better: don't go there at all.
Calling the cops to verify and id is absurd. Restaurants that serve alcohol should ALL have black lights to look at ID's as I belive most states have some sort of photoluminescent security measure (I know both MI and NY do).
I should have gone to TGIF.
oh, btw, in January, I went to the same Red Robin, with my expired "under 21" ID, and sat at the bar without them putting me through hell to prove my age.
