My GF's laptop came with probably the worst piece of bloatware ever - Microsoft Office 2007 Trial edition.
The trial ended, of course, so she pulled out her full version of 2003 and tried to install it on her laptop. Even after uninstalling 2007, running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, and clearing 2007 registry entries which were left behind, she gets errors when trying to install 2003. Basically, it demands she insert her original install disc (which is already inserted) to find a missing CAB file, which is not missing since it is on the install disc. Pointing the installer directly to the file (or a copy) still results in the same error.
Anyone have any suggestions for getting Office 2003 installed in a Vista system which came pre-installed with 2007 Trial?
