You should be able to. Apple is still signing 5.1.1.
Just download Tiny Umbrella and see if it can save your SHSH. If it was successful then you will see a saved SHSH entry near the bottom of the program window.
If that works then we can walk you through the downgrade process after.
Your SHSH is for iOS6. You don't have a 5.1.1 saved so trying to downgrade at this point is difficult at best and most likely not possible.
Attempted to restore, but I get error 1600. I assume I'm stuck with the useless piece of s**t that is ios6?

Cydia does save SHSHs. Of course they'll only have the SHSHes for the versions you've jailbroken, but it's a start. Thankfully you're on an iPhone 4, so you'll always be able to downgrade to whatever iOS you have the blobs for.Long ago, one iOS5 I was jailbroken, but never saved my SHSHs, did Cydia auto-save them?
The iPhone Wiki is reporting that the signing window for 5.1.1 was closed yesterday for everything except the iPad (1) and iPod Touch 3G. So it looks like no further restores will be possible for owners without their SHSH blobs. Are you sure? I just ran Tiny Umbrella and it tells me Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1. I already have mine saved but others might be out of luck at this point.
My wife has an iPod Touch (4th gen), just regular stock 5.1 I believe. Do the normal backups it does let you downgrade back from an upgrade, or do I need to do some research on the blob things first?
Thanks!
Of course that last post before mine doesn't sound promising though...
When you click "Save SHSH" in TinyUmbrella, do you see only iOS 6?
And either way, is this an iPhone 4S?
o.o
What exactly makes iOS 6 useless?
If it's YAMC (yet another maps complaint), I suggest you grab Waze, Mapquest, or visit maps.google.com and save it to your home screen while Apple works on improving its Maps.
I find the app store to be much improved, performance to be excellent, and the maps application hasn't let me down.
Caps lock doesn't make your opinion more valid.
