I'm currently downloading, and AFAIK this installer isn't prejudice against pirated copies of XP....not that anyone would have anything like that here.

nope new versions (non-pubblic ones) block all the current illeagle keys......funny things is a keygen is already on google and Microsoft can't block it without reissueing all the corprate keys AGIAN I love it

actually the final won't be here till june or july sue to microsoft having to wait for Corportaions to change thier PIDs to a different one so they can ban most of the illeage PIDs

so does this mean that if somebody had a copy of XP that used, say a program to get rid of the need for a legit serial key. If this person downloaded this SP2, they wouldnt have to authenicate windows again?

for general knowledge of course you would need a CD key which is based on 640 no 641-649 which all the illeagle ones were. not that I know what this means. a birdy told me they have a thing called a generator that generates this so called 640 PID. just for general knowledge of course

Maybe that information is better left off this thread.

Either way...I finished my backup, installed SP2, smooth install, no re-activation requests, and the new features are nifty. I'll post more as I play around with it.

I've been running this for a while now. I have noticed my pc takes longer to startup and shutdown. Plus IE seems to bomb more often and drives me crazy when it prevents stuff from loading due to a potential security risk. As far as the popup addition, well I disabled that cause I like Pop-Up stopper companion. I also turned off the firewall option because based on how I connect, its not needed. If I was building a new pc I would leave it off. Mozilla is still better than IE.

You need to download the Windows Update for XP SP2 - they specifically have a fix for that.

I installed it - I like the popup blocker and the better firewall; however, I thought they were including a virus scanner in here? (Or I guess the non-beta version)

if this person did have a cdkey based on a PID of 641-649 then yes you would have too
