Downloading too much?

In the past 3 weeks I've downloaded 1.6 gigs and I've uploaded about 600megs:Q, is this enough to alert my cable provider (AT&T). I sure hope not!

This isn't a regular habit though. Usually my downloads are well under a gig per month.

I usally d/l a gig per week, burn to CD and Archive it. What this you say bout alert your cable provider? Are there people who do that if so they should have nabbed me long ago!

I have been known to download that much before noon on a good day and never had a prob with Roadrunner. Never seem to upload that much though.

For a few months I downloaded over a gig per day... my isp got pissed

I've been running an fserve on this connection, so i've been using my upstream 100% for a solid two weeks now (30 gigs sent so far). I've also downloaded at LEAST 200 gigs, and haven't heard a word from earthlink yet!

I can't beleve any ISP would say anything about how much you download. Is it mentioned in your agreement that you have a limit? Hell, I run both a webserver and and FTP and I still haven't been told nything. Of course I am breaking the rules by running a server, but hey, they don't say anytyhing, I don't say anything. I called for Tech Support with @Home with connection problems and the CSR couldn't even see any of my pc's on the network because of my firewall. I had to disable it so she could see I was there. Most of them are pretty stupid when it comes to that stuff. If you loive in a neighborhood that has very few connections on the node you are on, I doubt they would say much. Most of my neighbors are old and don't need or too poor to afford cable, so it is good for me.

Cable providers here give a download limit of 500 MB a month!!! Friggin' uunbelievable!!!

It hasn't come to my area yet... so I'm still on dial-up.... & still managing a Gig a month or so :-D

Forgot to mention, I am on a 26.6 dial up with earthlink ;-)

I've d/led 2.6 gigs in the past week...i doubt they will look into it, seeing as the guy on RR that i d/l from d/ls and ups that much in a day...

Nah, don't worry about it. Downstream bandwidth is much cheaper than upstream, so they generally don't care how much you download.

They get pissed becasue they suspect your running a FTP, ggame servr, fserver, website on the connection which isin't aloud.

Back when I used to run a hotline server with about 20 members, I would easily download 4 gigs and upload about 3 gigs every day.

Ahaha I don't think so! I've downloaded 10 gigs in a week before Thats nothing compared to some guys with sites up.

Hell i did that in a few hours. I know I have downloaded about 10 gb over a weekend.
