i just installed it, i never used mozilla or anything else besides IE for past 6 years, maybe for a little bit Netscape long time ago. seems pretty nice and it is only using 24mb.

the only thing that it didnt do is bring all my bookmarks over from IE 6, only what was on the top quick launch bar in IE got copied to Firefox but not the other 40 bookmarks that i have.

I got fed up with the "real" 1.0 release, as not only did it screw up my extensions (for which there's no update for three of the most important ones that I use), it disabled my theme :|, and somehow I lost "Open in new background tab" from right-click.

I've gone back to 1.0PR as it "just works" properly.

go to bookmarks, and then "manage bookmarks." then in one of the menus, there's an import thing. maybe that will work. i don't know, maybe it only takes files and won't do it from programs. i think it imported them for me though, when i first installed firefox back in the day.

Man, this is one thing that's almost forcing me to go back to IE. I've used FireFox/Phoenix/Firebird for a while, but I just can't get over this. I've searched through their forums, but haven't really found much.

I'll leave my computer for a few hours, and then come back, and it will take SOOO FREAKING LONG for Firefox to start responding again, like an SUPER long time. I have a 2.8 w/ 512 RAM, and it should not be this slow. I understand that it's designed this way, as to free up memory when not in use, right?

I'm going to play around with it a little longer, but if I can't figure this out, then I really might have to go back to IE.

Let's hope that doesn't happen. If anyone knows any links to specifically tweak the memory management, please post them!!!!!!

I never really liked Firefox, prefer Mozilla 1.7.3 and Opera 7.54 so why not give them a try? If that fails you`ve Maxthon and few other browsers I could meantion.

What is mht?

hi,
mht is a web archive format. it rolls all of the giffs and other images and ancillary files into a single archive that behaves like a web page.
instead of a bunch of files you only need 1.
i actually use this a lot because it's easier than keeping track of a bunch of different files.

launch ie and save a page, one of the save options is .mht. try it.
